You Are In My Prayers-Coffee And Cards With Celeste And Deb

Happy March! This month Deb and I are playing with a sketch. I love patterned papers and layers, so sketches are always a lot of fun for me, but I admit this one challenged me. I chose to do a mirror image of the focal panel on my card. I started by embossing some basic black cardstock using Simon Says Stamps Dotted Diamond 3D embossing folder and layering that onto my card base. I created the background by using patterned paper from Crate Paper's Pretty Party 6x paper pad. My focal panel was created by using stitched square dies from My Favorite Things sentiment from The Cat's Pajamas Simply Stacked Sentiments, Echo Park's Wintertime Braches Die set and more of the patterned paper, and some old black brads I had in my stash from forever ago. I opted to not create a bow on my card because I find it difficult to mail cards with twine or ribbon on them.

For my coffee this month, I opted for a lovely caramel coconut shaken latte from my local Ziggi's. It was delicious! Now, be sure to head over to Debra's blog and see what fun she created this month with our sketch!

Thanks

Hello, and happy Friday! Today's card was created for the latest Freshly Made Sketches card challenge. I stamped Simon Says Stamp's Sketchy Lines Background onto white cardstock using Stampin' UP's tangerine tango ink and die cut the panel using a stitched rectangle die from Paper Rose. I then the beautiful poppies from My Favorite Things Flowers In Bloom stamp set, watercolored them with Kingart watercolor markers I found at my local TJ Maxx for $14.99, and fussy cut them. I popped the focal panel up off of the card using thin foam tape and adhered the flowers directly onto the panel. I stamped and watercolored a butterfly from Simon Says Stamp's Butterfly Blossoms stamp set, die cut it using the coordinating die, and adhered that to the card. The sentiment is from the same My Favorite Things Flowers In Bloom stamp set and was stamped in Versafine ink and heat embossed using Wow clear fine embossing powder. I fussy cut the sentiment out and popped it up using more thin foam tape. To finish off my card, I added Star Dust Stickles to the outer edges of the butterfly and the center of the flowers and some pretty sequins from Simon Says Stamps Georgia Peach mix. Thank you for stopping by my blog. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

You're Special-Send A Smile 4 Kids

This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids our inspiration is to create a kid's card with animals on it. Using colored cardstock and dies from Poppy Stamps Whittle Racing Giraffe kit I created this fun scene. The grassy hillside was created using colored cardstock and Simon Says Stamps Drifting Edges border die. I used the My Favorite Things mini cloud stencil and Stampin' UP bashful blue ink to create the background. The sentiment from Paper Smooches and was stamped using  Versafine onyx black ink. I finished this card off by adding some light blue details to the clouds and some spots on the giraffe with my Copic markers. Now, be sure to head over the Send A Smile 4 Kids blog and check out what fun the other design team members created. Be sure to leave a comment and play along!
