This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids we are celebrating all things Halloween/Fall. Several years ago, I picked up a cute paper pack from Design, Inc that I picked up in the dollar bin at Target. Not only did it have fabulous fall themed papers but a super cute stencil with leaves, acorns, pumpkins, a turkey, and a pumpkin pie. I opted to use both today. I cut the patterned paper down to 4x5.25 inches and matted it onto some darker craft cardstock I had in my stash. I stenciled the pumpkin, acorn, and two leaves in fall-colored inks. I added white gel pen details to them all, and fussy cut the images out. I adhered them together and mounted foam tape on the back of the image. The image also came from the dollar bin at Target and was inked in warm cocoa ink from Gina K Designs. I cut the sentiment down into a strip, mounted it on more of the dark craft cardstock, and adhered it to the card. My finishing touch was adding a fishtail banner made from the same cardstock using a banner die from Unity Stamp Company. Now, be sure to head over to the Send A Smile 4 Kids blog and see how the other design team members were inspired this month. We would also love it if you played along!

Happy Birthday Princess-Send A Smile 4 Kids
This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids, we are celebrating all things birthday! I have a good friend who has 3 kiddos, and between her kiddos and my grandkids, I feel like I'm always making kid birthday cards. This one is for my buddy's youngest little girl. To make this card I layered red cardstock onto my white A2 card base. I then matted a piece of green patterned grid paper from the American Crafts Neapolitan 12x12 paper pad onto plain white cardstock. I then matted a piece of floral paper from the same paper pad onto more red cardstock. I layered them together. I then stamped the adorable little girl from My Favorite Things Pure Innocence Birthday Princess stamp set onto alcohol marker-friendly cardstock. I colored in the skin, hair, and cake. I stamped the crown and dress onto patterned paper from the paper pad, fussy cut them out, colored them with alcohol markers for depth and dimension, and paper pieced them onto the focal image. I fussy cut her out and mounted her with foam tape for dimension. I adhered her to the left of the card on a strip of red cardstock that I white heat embossed the sentiment from the same stamp set. I finished the card off with some red sequins and white gel pen detail. Now, be sure to head over the Send A Smile 4 Kids blog to see how the rest of the design team was inspired by this month's challenge. We would also love it if you played along!

Sweet Holiday Wishes-Send A Smile 4 Kids
This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids we are celebrating Christmas in July. I created this fun card using Sunny Studio's Christmas Cookies mini stamp set and some white heat embossing. I stamped the images onto some sand cardstock from Hobby Lobby using Versamark ink and Ranger's detail white embossing powder. I used my Copic markers to color the images in shades of brown and pink. I cut the panel down using a Pink & Main nesting rectangle die. I layered it onto a scalloped edge stitched panel by Gina Marie Designs that I cut down using plain white cardstock. I adhered both panels to my card base created out of more sand cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set onto a small strip I had colored with my pink Copic marker, cut it down into strips, and popped it up off of the card using foam tape. This card was so simple to create and really packs a punch! Be sure to stop by the Send A Smile 4 Kids blog and check out this month's challenge!

Scooting By To Say Hi-Send A Smile 4 Kids
This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids we're creating cards that celebrate summer fun. I had to crack out an oldie but goodie for this card. I stamped by stamping the scooter from Paper Smooches Spiffy Scooters stamp set onto white card stock. I colored the lights and wheels using my alcohol markers. Using patterned papers from Simple Stories Sunkissed 6x8 paper pad, I stamped the scooter again onto various patterned papers, fussy cut them out, and adhered them to the original image. Using real red cardstock from Stampin' UP and a pretty orange polka paper from the same Simple Stories paper pad I created my card base. I then created a contrasting strip for the bottom half of the card using a pretty floral paper from the same paper pad and red cardstock. I created the frilly border using a border punch from EK Success. Using Spellbinders nesting circle and scalloped circle dies I created the focal panel using red cardstock and a nice blue grid patterned paper. I popped up the circle panel using thin foam tape. I adhered the scooter onto the circle with a few clouds I had punched using a mini cloud punch by Fiskars. I finished the card off by stamping the sentiment from the same stamp set at the bottom of the card. I love how cute this sweet, summer card is! Be sure to stop by the Send A Smile 4 Kids blog and see how the rest of the design team was inspired by this month's challenge. We would love if you were to join us with a fun summer creation!

You're Not Old-Send A Smile 4 Kids
Hello, and happy May! This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids we are creating cards with punny sentiments, and a focus on dads. I had to crack out my Art Impressions Golden Oldies "Norm" stamp set with matching sentiment. I stamped the focal image and the sentiment onto white Copic-friendly cardstock. I colored the focal image using alcohol markers, and cut it out with a pierced edge nesting circle die from Gina Marie Designs. I didn't have a die for the sentiment, so I fussy cut it out. Using paper from October Afternoon's Modern Homemaker 8x8 paper pad, I selected papers that I thought would be as fun and "loud" as the focal character's Hawaiin shirt. I put the card together using a fun sketch I found on Pinterest and popped the focal panel and the sentiment up off of the card using thin foam tape. This card literally cracks me up! Please pop on over to the Send A Smile 4 Kids blog and see how my fellow design team members were inspired by this month's challenge. We would love for you to join us by submitting a card too! Have a wonderful weekend!

Mom-Send A Smile 4 Kids
This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids we are using a sketch, with a focus on Mom cards. If you are a regular visitor to my blog, you will know that I am a huge fan of patterned papers and sketches. So, this was right up my creative alley! I just purchased the Butterfly Blossoms stamp/die/stencil bundle from Simon Says Stamp and I had to use it for this fun sketch. Following the sketch closely, I used beautiful, patterned papers from Bo Bunny's Early Bird 6x6 collection. I stamped the flowers and butterfly from Butterfly Blossoms onto white cardstock using Memento tuxedo black ink, colored them using the stencils and inks from Stampin' UP, and die cut them using the coordinating dies. I layered the elements onto a circle panel using white cardstock and a stitched circle die from My Favorite Things. I stamped the sentiment from WPlus9's Strictly Sentiments 4 using Versafine onyx black ink, and I heat embossed it using Zing's clear embossing powder. I fussy cut the sentiment out and adhered it directly to the panel. I finished the card off by adding some clear rhinestones from Recollections. Please pop on over to the Send A Smile 4 Kids blog and see how everyone else was inspired by our sketch challenge.

Happy Easter-Send A Smile 4 Kids
Hello, happy March! This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids we are creating cards with animals on it with a special focus on spring or Easter. I did some silhouette stamping using Pawsome Stamps Oh Bunny and Verve Stamps Because Of You stamp sets. I wanted to keep this card one layer, so I masked a circle using some Inkadinkado masking paper and a large circle die. Using the negative space of the circle and a Lawn Fawn grass border die, I ink blended the grass. Then I inked the sky. I stamped the bunnies from Pawsome Stamps Oh Bunny stamp set using Versafine onyx black ink and my stamp positioner. I moved on to the eggs, which I stamped in various colors using Gina K Designs inks. Using some selective stamping, I created the border foliage using a stamp from Verve Stamps Because Of You. I stamped the sentiment from the Pawsome Stamp set, and added white gel pen detail to the bunnies, eggs, and flowers and black dashed lines around the focal area. I finished the card off by scattering around some pretty diamond confette from Pink & Main. Now, be sure to head over the Send A Smile 4 Kids blog and see what the other design team members created. We would also love it if you played along!

You're Cuter Than Cupid-Send A Smile 4 Kids
We are celebrating fun folds this month at Send A Smile 4 Kids. I have to admit that I have never created anything other than a traditional top or side fold A2 card, so I had to go to Pinterest to figure this one out. I found this design on a Stampin' UP demonstrators page using some floral image. I thought it would be fun to do a sweet Valentine's Day card instead. I started with a piece of real red cardstock and cut it down to an A2 size (4.25"x 5.5"), removing 1" from the right side. I cut down down a piece of white cardstock for the insert to be 4'x5.25". I then die cut a rectangle piece of real red cardstock using a Pink & Main nesting rectangle die. I score the right edge at 1/4" and adhered that to the center of the insert panel at the back. I then attached the entire piece to the inside of the card. I then cut down another smaller piece of white cardstock and stamped the adorable image and sentiment from Colorado Craft Company's Mini Love Cards stamp set using Memento tuxedo black ink, and colored it using my Copic markers. I adhered that panel to my folded flap and added black dashed lines around the panel for a bit of interest. I added some patterned paper to the smaller front panel using Pebbles Be Mine 6x6 paper pad. I finished my adorable card off with some Nuvo Crystal drops in the White Blizzard to Cupid's wings and the cloud, and some pretty red clay hearts from Trinity Stamps to the outside panel. Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Be sure to stop by the Send A Smile 4 Kids blog to see how everyone else was inspired!

Hello My Friend-Send A Smile 4 Kids
Hello, and happy New Year! This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids we are celebrating friendship, with a focus on making new friends, but keeping the old. I wanted to break out an old stamp set that I've not used in ages that celebrates friendship. I started by stamping the adorable unicorns from The Greeting Farm Hello Unicorn and Magical Day stamp sets onto white Copic-friendly cardstock. I colored them with my alcohol markers and fussy cut them out. Using some teal cardstock from my stash and a stitched scalloped border nesting die from Gina Marie Designs, I created the scalloped panel. Using white cardstock and a cloud embossing folder from Darice, I created a cloudy sky background that I adhered to the scalloped panel. Using my alcohol markers, I created some interest and shadow the embossed clouds on the background. I stamped the sentiment from The Greeting Farm Hello Unicorn stamp set using Memento tuxedo black ink onto a white panel that I die cut using a stitched speech bubble border die from The Cat's Pajama's. I adhered that to the top of the cloud background panel and added more interest with my Copic marker. I popped the unicorns up on the panel using foam squares and finished the card off with some sparkling clear gems from Recollections and some white gel pen detail on the unicorns.

Oh, So Merry-Send A Smile 4 Kids
Hello, happy December! This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids we are creating winter cards. Nothing says winter to me like snow...or snowmen! I found inspiration for this adorable card on Pinterest, and just had to give it a try. I started by layering pretty red snowflake paper from My Mind's Eye Sweater Weather paper pad onto black cardstock and mounted it onto my white A2 card base. Using a stitched circle die from My Favorite Things, I created a circle out of simple white cardstock. I cut down to 2/3 of its size. I added the scarf by cutting down more patterned paper from the same paper pad into rectangles. I adhered them to card using more foam tape. The eyes were created with a small EK Success 1/4" circle punch using black cardstock, and the nose was created with a Spellbinders triangle die and orange cardstock. The entire snowman was adhered to the card using thin foam tape. The sentiment was stamped onto black cardstock using Pawsome Stamps Puffy Holiday Greetings stamp set and Ranger detail white embossing powder. I fussy cut the sentiment out and adhered it with foam tape as well. I finished off the card by adding some black gems around the image for a bit more interest. Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Be sure to head over to the Send A Smile 4 Kids blog and see how everyone else was inspired this month!

Let It Snow-Send A Smile 4 Kids
Good morning, and welcome to the November Send A Smile 4 Kids card challenge! This month we are celebrating Holidays. I created my card by stamping the adorable penguin and trees from My Favorite Things Snow Globe Singles stamp set onto white cardstock. I colored them and die cut them images using coordinating dies. Using the Snow Globe die set I die cut the elements for the snow globe using light blue, teal, and black cardstock from my stash. I embossed the sentiment on the bottom of the snow globe using the snow globe singles stamp set, Versamark ink, and Ranger detail white embossing powder. I die cut a piece of snowflake patterned paper from My Mind's Eye Sweater Weather using a stitched rectangle die from Paper Rose, adhered some black twine from Spellbinders at the top, and adhered it to a postage panel I die cut from black cardstock using a Gina Marie postage edge rectangle die. I adhered that panel to my white A2 card base and adhered the snow globe at the center. I finished off this adorable winter card using some Nuvo Crystal Drops in white blizzard to the trees and the penguin's hat. Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Boo!-Send A Smile 4 Kids
This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids our inspiration is Holidays/Celebrations. Since we will be celebrating Halloween this month, I thought it would be fun to create a Halloween card! I started by stamping a spiderweb onto my purple focal panel using a red rubber background stamp that is so old I'm unsure who even made it. I then die cut my focal elements using Spellbinders Haunted House die set and colored cardstock in yellow, white, and black. I adhered the haunted scene directly to my focal panel. I stamped the sentiment from My Favorite Things Witch Way Is The Candy stamp set using Versamark clear embossing ink and black cardstock. I heat set the sentiment using Ranger detail white embossing powder. I die cut the sentiment using a fishtail banner from Unity Stamp Company's Scallops & Banners nesting dies. I adhered the sentiment strip to the focal panel and die cut the entire thing using a stitched rectangle die from Paper Rose. I matted it onto black cardstock leaving an 1/8" border and adhered the entire thing to my white A2 card base. I finished off the card by adhering some black sparkling gems around the card.

Witch Way Is the Candy? Send A Smile 4 Kids
This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids we are celebrating Fall/Halloween. To create my card, I started by embossing a panel of black of cardstock using Simon Says Stamp's Tangled Web 3D embossing folder. I adhered that to my A2 white card base. Using Copic marker YG07 Acid Green, I colored a strip of white cardstock and adhered that to the bottom of the card. Using patterned paper from the Recollections Midnight Magic Halloween 6x6 paper pad I added a smaller strip on top of the green paper and a small fish tail banner at the top of the focal panel. I then stamped the images from My Favorite Things Which Way Is The Candy stamp set onto white Copic-friendly cardstock. I colored them using my alcohol markers, cut them out with the coordinating dies, and adhered them to my card panel using thin foam tape. I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock and cut it down to a thin banner, where I fishtailed the end, and adhered it onto the card closer to the top. I finished off the card by adding some white gel pen detail and googly eyes to the adorable cat. I know one of my granddaughters will love this card! Wishing You A Happy Birthday-Send A Smile 4 Kids
This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids, we are celebrating birthdays for kids! It just so happens that I am attending a birthday party next weekend for a special little girl and felt like this card would be perfect for her. I started by layering some pink cardstock onto my white A2 cardbase leaving a quarter inch border around the sides. I die cut a panel of plaid patterned paper from the Echo Park Spring Fling 6x6 paper pad using a Wavy Edger Die from Whimsy Stamps, and adhered it to the card base at the top of the card. I stamped the little girl from My Favorite Things Unicorns and Glitter stamp set onto white Copic-friendly cardstock, colored her, and cut her out with the matching die. I stamped the balloon, cake, and gift from Spellbinders Gnomie Birthday stamp set, colored the images, and fussy cut them. I adhered all of the images to the card base using low profile foam tape. I then die cut the sentiment from a stand-alone Heffy Doodle die using dark grey cardstock from my stash. I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock using Versafine smokey grey ink and The Greetery's PreText Sentiment stamp set. I cut the panel down to the think sliver, popped it up on foam strips from Stampin' UP, and adhered it above the birthday sentiment die. Happy birthday-Send A Smile 4 Kids
Hello, happy June! This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids we are celebrating teens. I have a friend who recently purged some craft supplies and gifted me a few older CTMH stamp sets. I used the Fun Times stamp set to create that fun green strip of critters. I stamped the images onto some green patterned paper from the Little Yellow Bicycle's Fern & Forest 6x6 paper pad using Hero Arts green ink. I cut that down into a smaller strip panel and mounted it on some early espresso cardstock from Stampin' UP. I cut down another panel of patterned paper from the paper pad and mounted that on dark brown cardstock and adhered the panel to my card base. I stamped some sub sentiments from The Greetery's PreText Sentiment stamp set using charcoal brown ink from Gina K Designs and cut them down into small sentiment strips and mounted them on brown cardstock. Using the top half of the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Wishes sentiment die, I die cut more of the same early espresso cardstock using the Birthday die. I attached that to a white panel and mounted that on brown cardstock. I adhered that to the card panel and added some fun yellow enamel dots from Simple Stories for a nice pop of color. Thank you for stopping by my blog. I hope you stop by the Send A Smile 4 Kids blog and see how the rest of the design team was inspired.

Love You To The Beach And Back-Send A Smile 4 Kids
It's the first week of May, and this month at Send A Smile 4 Kids we are celebrating all of the special men in our lives. I'm still blessed to have my father with me, and this card was created for him. He lives in a beach community in Florida and has always loved sailing. I created this card by layering some gorgeous patterned paper from Simple Stories Vintage Seas 6x8 paper pad onto some navy cardstock from Hobby Lobby. Using nothing but ephemera from the Nautical Bits & Pieces I created my scene. I added a sentiment from the same collection and a few sequins from The Ton and called this card done. I don't create too many cards where I literally do no stamping, but this card has no stamping at all! Be sure to stop by the Send A Smile 4 Kids blog and see how the rest of the design team was inspired by our challenge this month.

Celebrate Your Day-Send A Smile 4 Kids
This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids we are celebrating the moms/special women in our lives. To create my card, I started by layering some olive cardstock from Hobby Lobby onto my white A2 card base. Using the Stampin' UP Framed Tulip embossing folder and some 110lb cardstock to create by background panel. Using some A2 nesting dies from Pink and Main I die cut the inner panel and the border panel. I stamped the floral images from Stampin' UP's Thoughts & Prayers stamp set using Gina K Designs Fresh Asparagus ink. I stamped the birthday sentiment in the right upper corner using Versafine onyx black ink and Verve Stamp's Poppy Birthday stamp set. Using a paint chip from Lowe's that matched the cardstock, I die cut the butterfly using Stampin' UP's Beautiful Wings Embosslit. I layered the top panel onto the card using some low profile foam tape, added the butterfly with some glue dots, and finished the card off with some clear sparkling gems from The Paper Studios. This was a pretty clean and simple card and think it would make a gorgeous set if done in different colors. Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Please be sure to leave a comment and stop by the Send A Smile 4 Kids blog and see how everyone else was inspired by this month's theme.

Happy Birthday-Send A Smile 4 Kids
This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids we are creating cards for boys. I die cut a focal panel using white cardstock and a stitched rectangle die from Paper Rose. I die cut a large circle in upper center of the panel and attached a piece of patterned paper from the Studio Calico Here & There 6x6 paper pad below the circle. I die cut some stars using the same paper pad and stitched star dies from Jillian Vance Designs. Because the patterned paper was so thin, I backed them with cardstock and popped them up off of the card using 3M foam tape. I stamped the sentiment at the bottom right of the panel using Stampin' UP's Curly Cute sentiment stamp set and Gina K sweet mango ink. I added some silver star confetti from my stash, some orange enamel dots from Recollections, and black dashed lines around the focal circle to finish this masculine card.

Happy Easter-Send A Smile 4 Kids
This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids we are celebrating Spring/Easter!
I have two adorable granddaughters that I always send Easter cards to, and thought this would be such a cute one to send to the youngest one. To create my card I started by die cutting the focal panel using Waffle Flower's Window Trio 1 die to cut the squares into my patterned paper from Echo Park's Spring Fling 6x6 paper pad. I then layered a piece of pink solid patterned paper from the same paper pad underneath. Using a 1" square paper punch from EK Success, I cut the smaller squares. I stamped the adorable images from Darcie's Feathers and Fur stamp set onto white Copic-friendly cardstock, colored them using my alcohol markers, and fussy cut them out. I popped the whole panel up off of my white A2 card using 3M foam tape, leaving a nice 1/4" border around the edges. I adhered all of the critters into their little "windows" using liquid glue and more 3M foam tape. I finished off this adorable card by adding some sparkly pink sequins that I picked up at my local craft store. Thank you for stopping by today. Be sure to head over to the Send A Smile 4 Kids blog and see what the rest of the team has created!
