I Donut Know What I'd Do Without You!

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog today. It's been a nasty weekend. This week alone we've had tornados, flash flooding, really cold temps, and this morning we got snow. It didn't stick but it was pretty while I was out on my morning run! I decided to spend the rest of this bleary, cold afternoon creating a card for a coffee lovers card group I belong to. I have an obsession for patterned paper and most of you know I don't do clean and simple cards very well. This card is a perfect example of my favorite kind of card...lots of patterned paper, Copic coloring, paper piecing, and tons of color. To create my card I started by die cutting a scalloped edge rectangle out of Stampin' UP's early espresso cardstock using a Gina Marie Designs die. I layered that directly onto my A2 white card base. Then using patterned papers from the Crate Paper's Notes & Things 6x6 paper pad I started layering paper on, framing each layer with more of the early espresso to add some nice delineation and contrast. I then die cut a panel using a Gina Marie Designs stitched border rectangle die and stamped the sentiment from the Close To My Heart's Treats Of Friendship stamp set using Gina K Design charcoal brown ink. I then stamped the donut from the same stamp set twice onto white Copic-friendly cardstock and the coffee cut three times onto more of the patterned papers from the same paper pad. I colored them using my alcohol markers, cut the pieces out and paper pieced them together. I popped them both up off of the focal panel using foam squares from Scrapbook Adhesives to finish off this card. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your weekend and thank you for visiting my blog today!

Good Lord, Celeste, I hope today is starting off a lot calmer in your weather world!! You certainly brought cheeriness into your craft room yesterday with this delicious card full of pp and layers, two things I need to work more on! (Sorry, didn't mean to call you a moron!) You are inspiring when it comes to design and now I'm off to the Donut Wheel! Hugs, Darnell
