One In A Melon

Hello! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. It's been unseasonably cool here in the Midwest, and my boyfriend and I had the loveliest weekend together enjoying Mother Nature. Anyway, today's card was created for the latest Color Throwdown card challenge. I created my card by die cutting a hole in the upper center of a panel of yellow gingham paper from the Simple Stories Summer Lovin' 6x8 paper pad. I then layered that onto a piece of green cardstock that I had in my stash, and then die cut a smaller circle in the center of that to create an inner frame for my focal panel. I adhered the entire panel onto my white A2 sized card base. Then I stamped the watermelon slices onto some white cardstock using Stampin' UP's Watercolor Melon stamp set and Gina K Designs red hot and Hero Hues green inks. I fussy cut the images out and adhered them to the inner circle of the focal panel. I stamped a few of the seeds using Gina K Designs black in. I die cut the word melon from more the same green cardstock using MFT's Essential Alphabet dies, and adhered the letters to the bottom of the panel using liquid glue. I then selectively stamped the rest of the sentiment from Impression Obession's Watermelon Layering stamp set using black ink. I trimmed then down and backed them with red cardstock and adhered them to the card. I added a few red sequins I had in my stash to finish off my card. I thank you for stopping by my blog today!
