Hello, happy July! We are full swing into summer here in Southeast Missouri, so Deb and I thought it would be fun to do a watermelon summer themed card this month for our Coffee and Cards collaboration. My card was pretty simple to create. I used large circle dies from Little B and some colored cardstock to create the elements that made up my watermelon. I ran my pink cardstock through a Swiss dot embossing folder before attaching it to the rest of the circle elements. I cut it in half to create two watermelon slices. Using a small heart die, I created the little watermelon seeds but cutting the hearts in half and adhering them onto my watermelon slices. I adhered some pretty pink gingham patterned paper from the Simple Stories Summer Lovin' 6x8 paper pad to the bottom of my A2 card panel. I die cut a white cardstock panel using a Whimsy Stamps Wavy Edger Die. I stamped the sentiment from Technique Tuesday's Hello Chickadee stamp set using Gina K black ink. I popped the panel up off of the card using foam tape. I adhered one of the watermelon slices directly to the card panel and popped the other one up using foam squares. I finished this cute summery card off by adding some pretty pink sequins from Pawsome Stamps. My coffee this month is a wonderful and tasty iced crème brûlée boba coffee that I picked up at a lovely coffee shop in my neighborhood. It was a nice treat on a really hot day! Now, be sure to stop by Debra's blog and see what fun she created this month for our summery theme!
This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids Send A Smile 4 Kids we are celebrating Christmas for kids. I thought it would be fun to create a sweet card for my youngest granddaughter. I stamped the adorable images from My Favorite Things Jingle All The Way onto Copic-friendly cardstock using Memento tuxedo black ink. I colored the images using my alcohol markers, and fussy cut them out. I then die cut a panel of white cardstock using a layering shaped die from Spellbinders. Using Simon Says Stamp's Falling Snow stencil white Hero Paste, I created a snowy background. Once the paste was dried, I inked the background using Tim Holtz distress inks in blues. I mounted the panel directly to my A2 cardbase and stamped the sentiment below it is using Gina K Designs black ink. I popped the images up on the focal panel using foam tape to create a fun, wintery scene. I added some white gel pen details to finish up this cute Christmas card. Thank you for stopping by my blog and be sure to head over to the Send A Smile 4 Kids blog and join us in this fun challenge.
Today I am guest designing for the latest AAA Birthday card challenge. I was at my local book store this past weekend and picked up the latest issue of Simply Cards & Papercrafts. The publication included a floral stamp set from Craftworld called Wild Meadows and some lovely patterned paper. I stamped the gorgeous flowers onto white Copic-friendly cardstock, colored the images using my alcohol markers, and fussy cut around the edges leaving a small white border. I layered a strip of the pink polka patterned paper to the far left of my white A2 card base leaving a small border around the edge. Using some nesting circle dies from Gina K Designs I cut a circular frame out of basic black cardstock and adhered it to the card panel. I stamped the birthday sentiment from the same Craftworld stamp set using Versafine onyx black ink and cut it down into a small sentiment strip. Using foam tape, I popped my floral sentiment up in the center of the circle frame, adhered the sentiment on top with liquid glue, and adhered some pretty iridescent sequins around the focal image to finish up this pretty floral card.
