Thinking Of You
Thank You-Coffee And Cards With Celeste And Deb
Hello, and a very happy Sunday to you! This month Debra and I thought it would be fun to create a project using twine. I have way more twine and ribbon then I could ever possibly use and am always looking for an excuse to use it up. Following an idea I found on Pinterest, I decided to create a super cute flower out of a large button I had in my stash and some pretty jute twine from American Crafts. I created the flower by adhering an extra-large glue dot on the back of the button and looping the twine around until I got the desired look. Using patterned papers from the Authentique Delightful 6x6 paper pad and more of the same American Crafts twine, I created a focal panel. I stamped the sentiment from Stampin' UP's Curly Cute stamp set and Memento Ink in London fog. I adhered the panel to a light kraft A2 card base and adhered some clear rhinestone gems around the sentiment and flower for a nice finishing touch.
I wish I could say that our cool streak has lingered, but sadly it has not. We had temps over 105 degrees today with the heat index, so I opted for an iced S'mores cold brew from Dunkin Donuts to quench my thirst. Tastes like autumn but cold enough to fight off the summer heat! Now, be sure to pop over to Deb's blog and see how she was inspired by our twine challenge!

One In A Melon
Hello! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. It's been unseasonably cool here in the Midwest, and my boyfriend and I had the loveliest weekend together enjoying Mother Nature. Anyway, today's card was created for the latest Color Throwdown card challenge. I created my card by die cutting a hole in the upper center of a panel of yellow gingham paper from the Simple Stories Summer Lovin' 6x8 paper pad. I then layered that onto a piece of green cardstock that I had in my stash, and then die cut a smaller circle in the center of that to create an inner frame for my focal panel. I adhered the entire panel onto my white A2 sized card base. Then I stamped the watermelon slices onto some white cardstock using Stampin' UP's Watercolor Melon stamp set and Gina K Designs red hot and Hero Hues green inks. I fussy cut the images out and adhered them to the inner circle of the focal panel. I stamped a few of the seeds using Gina K Designs black in. I die cut the word melon from more the same green cardstock using MFT's Essential Alphabet dies, and adhered the letters to the bottom of the panel using liquid glue. I then selectively stamped the rest of the sentiment from Impression Obession's Watermelon Layering stamp set using black ink. I trimmed then down and backed them with red cardstock and adhered them to the card. I added a few red sequins I had in my stash to finish off my card. I thank you for stopping by my blog today!

Wishing You A Happy Birthday-Send A Smile 4 Kids
This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids, we are celebrating birthdays for kids! It just so happens that I am attending a birthday party next weekend for a special little girl and felt like this card would be perfect for her. I started by layering some pink cardstock onto my white A2 cardbase leaving a quarter inch border around the sides. I die cut a panel of plaid patterned paper from the Echo Park Spring Fling 6x6 paper pad using a Wavy Edger Die from Whimsy Stamps, and adhered it to the card base at the top of the card. I stamped the little girl from My Favorite Things Unicorns and Glitter stamp set onto white Copic-friendly cardstock, colored her, and cut her out with the matching die. I stamped the balloon, cake, and gift from Spellbinders Gnomie Birthday stamp set, colored the images, and fussy cut them. I adhered all of the images to the card base using low profile foam tape. I then die cut the sentiment from a stand-alone Heffy Doodle die using dark grey cardstock from my stash. I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock using Versafine smokey grey ink and The Greetery's PreText Sentiment stamp set. I cut the panel down to the think sliver, popped it up on foam strips from Stampin' UP, and adhered it above the birthday sentiment die. To finish off my card, I added some sparkly clear rhinestone gems around the card. Now, be sure to stop off at the Send A Smile 4 Kids blog and see how everyone else was inspired this month.
