Happy Birthday-Coffee And Cards With Celeste And Deb

 

This month Deb and I are creating mini slimline cards. I recently watched a YouTube tutorial on how to create this fun fold flap mini slimline card and couldn't resist trying it. I started with a 7" x 6.25" piece of white cardstock. I scored it at 1.25" and again at 3.5" and folded my score lines. Using Ki Color Crush 6x6 patterned paper pad I selected 3 patterns that I felt went well together and cut them at 1"x 6," 1.25" x 6," and 3.5" x 6." The 1" strip went in the center fold which I popped up a bit with foam tape at the top and bottom of the panels for a little extra dimension. The 1.25" strip went on the top left panel before I adhered the middle flap down. The final strip went on the inside. I then die cut two panels, one in dark pink with a scalloped circle die from Spellbinders, and the second in white using a stitched circle die from My Favorite Things. I adhered them together and popped them up on the card only adding foam tape to the left of the circle so it would not stick to the inside panel of the card. I stamped, colored, and fussy cut the cupcake using Hero Arts CL158 stamp set. I popped that up on the focal panel and added some Stardust Stickles to the cherry and frosting for some added sparkle and shine. The happy sentiment was stamped using The Greetery's Pretext Sentiments and the Birthday was stamped using a Unity Stamp Company red rubber stamp that I got as a freebie from a recent order. They were placed over the cupcake. I finished the card off by adding a circle strategically inside that could not be seen with the front panel closed. I stamped the sentiment from Lil' Inker Designs stamp set. 

My coffee this month is a homemade Chai latte from a mix I picked up at a Home Goods in St. Louis served in a fun, snarky mug one of my friends gave me. It was pretty good for being a mix. For this month's Coffee and Cards collaboration, Debra and I are celebrating kids. My granddaughter, Maddie, is having a birthday this month, so I had to create something fun for her big day. Using MFT's Mini Cloud Edges stencil and a variety of inks from Stampin' UP, I created the rainbow cloud background. I die cut the panel using a stitched nesting rectangle border die from MFT, which I matted onto silver glitter cardstock from Crafter's Square and then mounted the panel to my white A2 card base. I stamped the images from MFT's Unicorns and Glitter stamp set onto white Copic-friendly cardstock and colored the images in rainbow colors and to look like Maddie and her little dog. I fussy cut the images and popped them up on foam tape on the card. I stamped the sparkles from the same stamp set around the images and heat embossed them using silver embossing powder from Recollections. I added a few clear rhinestones from Recollections to the center of each sparkle for extra shine. I stamped the sub sentiment using Versafine onyx black ink and a sentiment from The Greetery's Pretext Sentiments stamp set. I finished off the card by die cutting the word birthday using a die from Heffy Doodle and more of the silver glitter cardstock. To finish off the card, I added white gel pen details to the images and some Nuvo Glitter drops in white blizzard on all of the images for a nice sparkle and shine.

Thinking Of You On Your Birthday

 

My card today was created for the latest Just Us Girls card challenge. I tried to use some of the fun colors in the mood board on my card. I started by die cutting a piece of bright pink cardstock from Colorbok's Cardstock Carton paper pad using CTMH Stitched Lattice background plate. The "thinking of you on your" sentiment came from The Greetery's PreText Sentiments stamp set. And the remainer of the images were from the SSS Birthday Mail freebie I received from my last order with them. The images were all stamped onto white Copic-friendly cardstock, colored with my Copic markers, and fussy cut out. I popped them all up using foam tape and arranged them on the card. I finished off the card using 6mm and 3mm clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. Thank you for stopping by my blog today! 

Wishing You A Happy Birthday-Send A Smile 4 Kids

 

This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids, we are celebrating birthdays for kids! It just so happens that I am attending a birthday party next weekend for a special little girl and felt like this card would be perfect for her. I started by layering some pink cardstock onto my white A2 cardbase leaving a quarter inch border around the sides. I die cut a panel of plaid patterned paper from the Echo Park Spring Fling 6x6 paper pad using a Wavy Edger Die from Whimsy Stamps, and adhered it to the card base at the top of the card. I stamped the little girl from My Favorite Things Unicorns and Glitter stamp set onto white Copic-friendly cardstock, colored her, and cut her out with the matching die. I stamped the balloon, cake, and gift from Spellbinders Gnomie Birthday stamp set, colored the images, and fussy cut them. I adhered all of the images to the card base using low profile foam tape. I then die cut the sentiment from a stand-alone Heffy Doodle die using dark grey cardstock from my stash. I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock using Versafine smokey grey ink and The Greetery's PreText Sentiment stamp set. I cut the panel down to the think sliver, popped it up on foam strips from Stampin' UP, and adhered it above the birthday sentiment die. Hello, happy June! This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids we are celebrating teens. I have a friend who recently purged some craft supplies and gifted me a few older CTMH stamp sets. I used the Fun Times stamp set to create that fun green strip of critters. I stamped the images onto some green patterned paper from the Little Yellow Bicycle's Fern & Forest 6x6 paper pad using Hero Arts green ink. I cut that down into a smaller strip panel and mounted it on some early espresso cardstock from Stampin' UP. I cut down another panel of patterned paper from the paper pad and mounted that on dark brown cardstock and adhered the panel to my card base. I stamped some sub sentiments from The Greetery's PreText Sentiment stamp set using charcoal brown ink from Gina K Designs and cut them down into small sentiment strips and mounted them on brown cardstock. Using the top half of the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Wishes sentiment die, I die cut more of the same early espresso cardstock using the Birthday die. I attached that to a white panel and mounted that on brown cardstock. I adhered that to the card panel and added some fun yellow enamel dots from Simple Stories for a nice pop of color. Hello, happy Wednesday! Today's card was created for the latest Freshly Made Sketches. I started with a white A2 card base that I embossed with the Richard Garay sweater embossing folder. I then cut down a piece of plaid patterned paper from The Paper Rose Autumn Plaid 6x6 paper pad and matted it with some early espresso cardstock from Stampin' UP. I inked up some white cardstock using Tim Holtz distress inks in fall colors and then die cut the leaves using Jillian Vance Leaves & Petals die set. I glued the leaves to some plain kraft cardstock I got at Hobby Lobby and die cut it into a panel using The Paper Rose stacking stitched rectangle die. I matted it onto early espresso cardstock and then arranged both panels onto the card following the sketch. I die cut more early espresso cardstock using My Favorite Things Essential Alphabet dies to spell out Fall. I layered three of each together for dimension and glued them to the focal panel. I stamped and heat embossed the word Happy from The Greetery Pretext Sentiments stamp set and cut it down to small strip. I mounted that on some mini foam dimensionals from Stampin' UP and placed it above the alpha die sentiment. It's still in the high 90's here in Southeast Missouri but I'm holding out hope that fall is right around the corner. This card is me secretly hoping!
