Caffeine Junkie

My latest card was created for the current AAA Cards challenge. I belong to a coffee lover's facebook group and we all exchange cards once per month. My crafty friend Helen sent me a beautiful card and in it she included the pretty red floral tag, the square and circle cut outs on my card. As soon as I saw them I knew I had to incorporate them into a card and I thought this challenge would be perfect since the shapes are geometric. To create my card I started by layering a strip of French script black and white patterned paper onto the side of my card. I then embossed a piece of white cardstock using a geometric embossing folder from Lifestyle Crafts and adhered it directly onto my card base. I then adhered the geometric paper ephemera my friend sent me to my card and added some black dashed lines for additional contrast. I stamped the sentiment from the Studio L2E stamp set onto a strip of black cardstock and heat embossed it using some Recollections snow white embossing powder. I adhered the sentiment strip directly to the bottom of my ephemera tag after adding a eyelet with my Crop-A-Dile tool. I popped the tag up off of the card using some fun foam from Hobby Lobby and added a bit of black hemp twine from American Crafts. I stamped the pretty mug from Reverse Confetti's Be A Barista stamp set onto some black cardstock and heat set it using the same white embossing powder. I then stamped the coffee portion of the stamp onto some white cardstock using Zing embossing powder in chestnut, heat set it, cut it out and adhered it to the mug. I popped the mug up off of the tag using some Stampin' UP foam dimensionals to finish this fun card off!

There's Always Time For Tea

Today's card was created as a thank you for some blog candy I received during the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop from fellow coffee loving cardmaker Danielle Vincent. You can find find her and all of her crafty goodness over at her blog here. Danielle sent me the wonderful new Stampin' UP Nice Cuppa stamp set and I couldn't resist inking it up immediately and sending her a wonderful thank you card for her generous act of kindness! For my card I started by stamping the stacked tea cups onto some white cardstock using Gina K ink in red hot and die cutting them with some fun new Gina Marie Designs dies I just got in this week. Love those wonky stitched lines around the border! I then took my Crop-A-Dile and punched a hole at the top of the mugs and onto the little tea bag tag that I stamped separately and fussy cut out. I attached some inexpensive white rickrack I picked up at Hobby Lobby to both ends to make it look like a tea bag string. I layered some cherry cobbler cardstock from Stampin' UP onto my card base and then a pretty floral piece of patterned paper from the Crate Paper Paper Heart Collection 6x6 paper pad on top. I popped the focal panel up off of the card with some 3M foam tape for added dimension. I hope you like it!
