Today's card was created for the Spring Coffee Lovers Bloghop. To create my card I started by layering a strip of some pretty springtime plaid patterned paper from Chickannidy Crafts Date Night 6x6 paper pad onto my white card base. I then added a small strip of silver glitter washi tape from the American Crafts Make It Happen washi tape pack just to the inside of the strip for some additional interest. I stamped the coffee mug from Skipping Stones Designs onto the card base and did some fun paper piecing from the same paper pad. I then stamped the coffee beans from the Fiskars Latte Love next to the mug and colored them in using Copic markers. I also added some shading and depth to the mug using my Copics. I die cut a heart out of the same patterned paper using a cute little Paper Smooches heart die and popped it up off of the mug using some Stampin' UP foam dimensionals. I added a bit of shimmer to the heart by covering it with some Nuvo Glitter Drops in white blizzard. To finish off the card I stamped the sentiment from Latina Crafter's Need Caffeine mini stamp set using Versafine onyx black ink, added some drops of Nuvo Crystal Drops in dark walnut, and rounded the outer corners of the card using my We R Memory Keepers corner chomper. Today's card was created for the latest Send A Smile 4 Kids For The Girls challenge. The challenge is create a fun girl card suitable to donate to one of their hospitals. This challenge gave me a chance to glitz things up. I started by layering some gold foil zebra print patterned paper from The Paper Studio's The Shoppe On The Square onto my white card base. I then cut down a smaller panel of some pink geometric paper from the same paper pad and matted it with some plain white cardstock so it would stand out against the gold zebra print. I die cut an oval flourish panel using some Gina Marie Designs dies and stamped one of the adorable little girls from the All Dressed UP Girl's Night Out stamp set. I masked her off and inked around the die using some Stampin' UP pretty in pink ink and a sponge dauber. I colored the girl in using Copic markers and then added a nice layer of clear Wink of Stella on top. I was hoping the camera would pick up all of that shimmer but my lighting wasn't cooperating with me. I stamped the Unity Stamp Company sentiment onto some white card stock using Versamark clear ink and heat embossed it using Ranger gold embossing powder. I mounted the inset panel, the focal panel, and the sentiment up off of the card using some foam tape. I hope you like it!
Today's card was created for the current Less Is More card challenge. This week the challenge is REPETITION. I love this because the possibilities are endless! I have a fun stamp set that I won as blog candy a few years ago from Technique Tuesday and I hadn't inked it up in a while. I thought long and hard about what image I could repeat over an over and it occurred to me that the fun little smiley faces from their stamp set Sending Smiles would be a perfect image to repeat. I started by taking a plain piece of Copic friendly cardstock and drawing some diagonal lines very lightly with a pencil. I stamped the smiley face along those lines and then I had the brilliant idea to mask each of those images off using some masking paper and stamping the linen background from MFT in the background. When I say that was a brilliant idea what I mean is not so much. I had to stamp, fussy cut, and adhere about 20 of those little faces. To say that it was time consuming is an understatement so I will most likely not be mass producing this card anytime soon. But it turned out okay. I then stamped one of the sentiments from the same stamp set onto more white cardstock and cut a fishtail banner and adhered it straight onto the panel and then the whole thing was adhered straight to my white card base. Today's card was created for the latest Freshly Made Sketches sketch challenge. I started by layering some basic grey cardstock from Stampin' UP onto my white card base and then adding some pretty patterned papers from the We R Memory Keepers Simply Spring 6x6 paper pad on top. I stamped one of the sweet chickadees from the Technique Tuesday Chickadees stamp set onto some Copic friendly cardstock and the sentiment from the same stamp set next to it. I die cut the panel using Gina Marie Designs dies in a wonky stitched border and colored the images in using Copic markers. I mounted the panel onto some more of the same grey cardstock and popped it up off of the card using some 3M foam tape for some added interest and dimension. I little clear Wink of Stella glitter pen added to the little pink chickadee finished this card off nicely! I hope you like it!
Today's card was created for CTS #133. I had so many ideas for the sketch but kept coming back to scattered leaves. I'm not sure why...I guess I just love fall. So, I reached for my Avocado Arts Nuts About You stamp set and stamped the leaves over and over onto some 110lb white cardstock using VersaMagic inks in Gingerbread, Mango, and Pumpkin Spice and some Colorbox chalk inks in orange, red, and green overlapping as I stamped to create a realistic pile of fall leaves. I fussy cut the leaf panel and mounted it onto another panel that I had dabbed with some VersaMagic seabreeze blue ink to create the sky. I then stamped the adorable squirrel image, the stump, and a few of the acorns onto more 110lb cardstock and colored them in using Copic markers in various shades of brown. I fussy cut them out and mounted them onto the focal panel using some Stampin' UP foam dimensionals. Love how they pop off of the page! I die cut the word nuts from some chocolate chip card stock from Stampin' UP using MFT's little lower case letter dies and mounted them onto the panel with foam dimensionals. I stamped part of the sentiment from the same Avocado Arts stamp set above and below the die cut letters. I framed the focal panel using more chocolate chip cardstock and added some dashed lines using a brown Memento dual brush marker. I mounted the whole thing onto my chocolate chip card base using some patterned papers from American Crafts Fall Crisp paper line. I just think it turned out too super cute!
This week's CASology challenge is to create a card using lines. I thought it would be cute to do a card with some birds on a wire. I stamped out three of the adorable little birds from Fresh Squeezed Stamps The Sweet Life stamp set (no longer available). I colored them in various shades of pinks using Copic markers RV000, RV02, RV52, RV55, AND RV66 and then added a bit of clear Wink of Stella to their wings for a bit of shimmer. I fussy cut the images out cropping off the legs and then went around the outer edges with my Memento tuxedo black dual marker to give them a nice, clean look. I cut my white 110lb cardstock down to create a smaller panel than the base and used my We R Memories Corner Chomper to round the edges off using the 1/2" setting. I used an oval ceramic platter from my kitchen to create the telephone wires on my focal panel since I didn't have a line stamp long enough to stamp from edge to edge horizontally on my card and then popped my little birds up using some Stampin' UP foam dimensionals. I stamped the Hello sentiment from the same stamp set and added a few sequins from The Ton's Sweetheart Mix. I love this little card and think it would be cute to reproduce as a set using different colors for the birds and other sentiments. Thanks for stopping by!
