Hello, happy Wednesday! I created this card for the latest Less Is More card challenge. I just picked up the Stampin' UP A Good Man stamp set and thought it would be perfect with Father's Day coming up this week and the latest challenge. I stamped the image onto some Copic-friendly cardstock, colored it with my Copic markers, and fussy cut around the image. I die cut a white panel using stackable rectangle dies from Pink & Main and white cardstock. Using strips of 2" blue painter's tape I created the background by running the tape across Stampin' UP's Sahara sand and bashful blue ink pads and transferring it to the cardstock to create ground and sky. Using Versafine onyx black ink I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set directly over the inked background. I popped the focal image up using Stampin' UP foam dimensionals and adhered the panel to some basic black cardstock to finish off this card. I love the way the background turned out on this card!
Today's card was created for the latest Less Is More and Addicted to CAS card challenges. I must admit that I struggle with clean and simple card. I love layers and patterned papers but this one came together fairly easy with the assistance of a some new masking stencils I recently purchased. To create my card I started by layering some basic black cardstock from Stampin' UP onto my white A2 card base. I then cut down a smaller panel using some 110lb cardstock from Staples. I taped my new Pink & Main Mask It In-Line mask to the panel and stamped the critters from the Close To My Heart In The Wild stamp set using Versafine onyx black ink. I then used the residue on the stamps to create masks and applied them to the animals. I then reapplied the circle stencil mask back over the images and applied Tim Holtz distress ink in salty ocean over the top. I removed the stencil and the masks from the critters and added some faux stitched lines around the edges to try and mask some of the imperfections in my stamping. I then stamped the sentiment from Stampin' UP's Curly Cute stamp set using more Versafine onyx black ink and adhered the panel the card using some 3M foam tape for some added dimension. I love how clean and simple this card turned out.
Hello and happy Sunday! It's cold and dreary here in Southeast Missouri, so the perfect day to stay inside and get crafty. My card today was created for the latest Less Is More card challenge. To create my card I started by layering some beautiful pink patterned paper that I've had in my stash for years onto my white A2 card base. I cannot even recall who made the paper but I know the name of the collection is Amore. Next I stamped one of the purses from Skipping Stones Design Birthday Purses stamp set onto some white Copic-friendly cardstock. I colored the image using my alcohol markers, fussy cut it, and went around the edges with my dual tip Memento tuxedo black marker for a nice crisp look. I die cut a focal panel using a stitched edge rectangle die from Gina Marie Designs and stamped the sentiment from the same Skipping Stones Design stamp set using Versafine onyx black ink. I popped the purse image up using some 3M foam tape and adhered it to the focal panel above the sentiment. I kept this card pretty simple so I finished it off my added some clear rhinestones from Paper Recollections in the four corners and on the clasp of the purse. Today's card was created for the latest Less Is More card challenge. To create my card I started by stamping the adorable cat and his little ball of yarn onto some Copic-friendly cardstock. I colored the images using my alcohol markers and fussy cut them out. Using some patterned papers from the Crate Paper Story Teller 6x6 paper pad I die cut a stitched edge rectangle with a Gina Marie Designs die and layered it onto my white card base using fun foam from Hobby Lobby. I then die cut a pierced edge circle using more white cardstock and more patterned paper from the same paper pad with a die from My Favorite Things. I stamped the sentiment using Memento London fog ink and a sentiment stamp from the Paper Smooches Feline Friends stamp set onto the circle panel. I adhered the panel directly to the card, mounted the cat onto the panel using Stampin' UP foam dimensionals and adhered the yarn ball directly to the panel using snail adhesive. Today's card was created for the latest Less Is More card challenge. To create my card I started by layering a piece of muted light blue patterned paper from the Studio Calico's Atlantic 6x6 paper pad onto my white card base. I then die cut a scrap piece of paper from the Pink Paislee Hey Kid 6x6 paper pad using the Tag Stitched Wise die and a stitched border die both from Paper Smooches. I die cut the tag again using the same die and some white cardstock from Staples and layered the patterned paper to the bottom. I stamped the sentiment from the Paper Smooches Feline Friends stamp set on the bottom using Versafine onyx black ink. My bits and pieces were the ribbon and the focal images for my tag. The striped ribbon is what's left over of a roll of American Crafts Halloween ribbon I had, the white gauze ribbon is a scrap I'd gotten in a freebie bag on a blog hop win, and the adorable little dog and his water dish were stamped and colored at a friends house while I was playing with her Avery Elle Furry Friends stamp set. I stamped the images and took them home with me months ago but never colored them. I decided to use them for this fun card. I colored them using my alcohol markers and fussy cut them by hand I adhered them to my tag using Stampin' UP foam dimensionals and popped the whole tag up off of my card using some fun foam from Hobby Lobby. Today's card was created for the latest Less Is More challenge. I really struggle with clean and simple cards but I do love the color purple, so I had to come up with something pretty but CAS. To create my card I started by layering some dark lavender cardstock from Hobby Lobby onto my white card base. I then layered some white cardstock on top and added a few clear Recollections rhinestones to each corner. I then added a focal panel by die cutting a piece of patterned paper from the Authentique Essentials Collection 6x6 paper pad using a cross stitched edge circle die from Gina Marie Designs. I stamped the butterfly from a Hero Arts stamp set and sentiment from Winnie & Walter's The Big, The Bold, and The Happy stamp set directly onto the patterned paper. I stamped the butterfly again onto some white Copic-friendly cardstock and colored it with my alcohol markers in pretty shades of purple. I fussy cut the image, edged it with my Memento tuxedo black dual tip marker, and adhered it down to the focal panel using a glue dot and some Stampin' UP foam dimensionals. As a finishing touch I added tons of clear Wink of Stella and a few clear rhinestones to the butterfly's body. I love how this card turned out! I only wish my photo had better exposure. Unfortunately, our area got hit with a nasty ice storm last night and the sun has not really showed itself much today. Anyway, I hope you like my card and thank you for visiting my blog!
Today's card was created for the latest Less Is More Challenge. I created my card by layering some pretty patterned paper from the American Crafts Neopolitan 12x12 paper pad onto my card base. I cut down a piece of Canson cold press watercolor paper and added some dashed lines to the edges by using a Paper Smooches edge die. I wet the paper and added a light circular wash of Tim Holtz distress ink in worn lipstick to the paper and dried it with my heat tool. I inked up the edges of one of the cute little jars I fussy cut from the same American Crafts paper pad using Versa Magic chalk ink in pink grapefruit and added some pretty crinkle ribbon from Diana Larson's shop. I glued an adorable wood veneer butterfly from American Crafts in the center for a nice touch of interest. To finish my card I stamped the sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Friendship Messages stamp set directly onto the jar and then popped the whole thing up with some 3M foam tape. I plan on sending this to my daughter who is in need of some encouragement right now. I hope you like it and thank you for visiting my blog today!
Today's card was created for the latest Less Is More Challenge. To create my card I started with a white card base and layered on a piece of white cardstock that I had embossed using a heart pattern embossing folder from The Paper Studio. I popped that panel up off of my card using 3M foam tape and then added some black stitched lines around the outer edge of the card to help define the edges. I stamped the heart from the Unity Stamp Company's Everything Love stamp set onto some cherry cobbler cardstock from Stampin' UP and fussy cut the image out. I stamped the sentiment on the inside of the heart using the same stamp set. I went all around the fussy cut heart with a dual tip Memento marker to make it look like a die cut and then adhered it directly to the card. Using some American Crafts jute twine in black I created the tail and bow for my "balloon" and adhered them both directly to the card using some Ranger Multi Matte Medium glue. For a finishing touch I added a few clear rhinestones from Recollections on either side of the sentiment. I hope you like this clean and simple card and thank you for visiting my blog today!
Today's card was created for the latest Less Is More challenge. This week's challenge called for a "recipe" of emboss resist. It's been a while since I used this technique on a card and wanted to play along and challenge myself. I started with a piece of white cardstock and, after prepping the surface with my powder tool, I stamped the two smallest snowflakes from the Stampabilities Winter Wonderland stamp set using Versamark ink and heat set them using Recollections snow white embossing powder. Once dry I inked the panel with Tim Holtz distress ink in broken china and faded jeans, creating a nice ombre effect. I took a tissue and brushed off the excess ink from the snowflakes and then spritzed the panel with both water and frost shimmer spray by Tsukineko. I love using that shimmer spray on snowy scenes because of the beautiful shimmer it gives. While that base panel was drying I stamped Purple Onion's Merry Snowman out onto some Copic-friendly cardstock and colored him in using my alcohol markers. I fussy cut around the image and freehand cut the snowy slopes around him. I edged the image using my dual tipped Memento tuxedo black marker. I then adhered the image directly to the distressed panel. I stamped the sentiment from Amy R's Big Christmas Wishes stamp set and, even though you can't see it in the photo, added some pretty shimmer to the letters using my clear Spica shimmer marker. I love how adorably sweet this card turned out and may have to mass produce this one. Today's card was created for the current Less Is More challenge. This week's challenge is to create a one layer card using something French. I started by stamping the flowers and leaves from the Avery Elle Petals & Stems stamp set onto some 110 lb Copic-friendly cardstock. I used Memento inks and then I added some shadows and depth using my Copic markers. I then added the sentiment below using the Sophisticated Script stamp set from Concord & 9th. I adore this beautiful alpha set and love to break it out when I can. I finished the card off by rounding the corners using my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper and added some black dashed lines around the outside edge.
Today's card was created for the current Less Is More card challenge. This week the challenge is REPETITION. I love this because the possibilities are endless! I have a fun stamp set that I won as blog candy a few years ago from Technique Tuesday and I hadn't inked it up in a while. I thought long and hard about what image I could repeat over an over and it occurred to me that the fun little smiley faces from their stamp set Sending Smiles would be a perfect image to repeat. I started by taking a plain piece of Copic friendly cardstock and drawing some diagonal lines very lightly with a pencil. I stamped the smiley face along those lines and then I had the brilliant idea to mask each of those images off using some masking paper and stamping the linen background from MFT in the background. When I say that was a brilliant idea what I mean is not so much. I had to stamp, fussy cut, and adhere about 20 of those little faces. To say that it was time consuming is an understatement so I will most likely not be mass producing this card anytime soon. But it turned out okay. I then stamped one of the sentiments from the same stamp set onto more white cardstock and cut a fishtail banner and adhered it straight onto the panel and then the whole thing was adhered straight to my white card base. I will be donating this card to the Live Love Cards campaign. If you are not familiar with this awesome charity for card makers you should definitely check it out! Anyway, I hope you like my card!
Today's card was created for the current Less Is More challenge. I started with some simple kraft cardstock and treated it with my embossing buddy powder bag. I stamped the sentiment from the Hero Arts Mother's Day stamp set using Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white detail embossing powder from Recollections. Using a ruler and a Versamark dual tip pen I drew the lines on either side of the sentiment and heat embossed those. Using some large post-it notes I blocked of the sentiment and stamped the Deco Chalk flowers from Impress Cards and Crafts as well as some of the leaves and heat set those too. I added a few dots here and there for some additional balance and visual interest using my white gel pen. It was a pretty quick and easy card to do. I hope you like it!
Today's card was created for the current Less Is More challenge. This week was a color challenge and the color was citrus. I don't really do a lot of green cards but I thought this color might be a fun one. I started by stamping the margarita glasses from the My Favorite Things Girls Night Out stamp set onto some white cardstock using Memento tuxedo black ink. I colored them using Copic markers, fussy cut them, and edged them using a Memento dual tip marker in tuxedo black so they would have nice, clean edges. I took a Tim Holtz blending tool and brushed some Hero Arts neon green ink onto my card base. I cut a smaller panel and stenciled the same color ink using a Tim Holtz dotted stencil. Once that was dry I went around the edge of my panel drawing a free-hand dual scribbled line for some added interest. I popped my margarita glasses up off the card using some Stampin' UP foam dimensionals and then popped the entire focal panel up off of the card using some 3M foam tape. A few sequins in lime green from Pretty Pink Posh and this card is done. Sorry for the poor lighting...it's a pretty bleak day here in Southeast Missouri.
