Hello and Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. Our quote for January's Words 2 Craft By is " Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul-and sings the tunes without words-and never stops at all. -Emily Dickenson." And January 5th is national bird day so I thought it would be appropriate to create a card with a bird on it. To create my card I started by stamping my leaves and bird from the Skipping Stone Design Heartsong II stamp set onto some patterned paper from the Cosmo Cricket 2twnty-thr3e 6x6 paper pad using both Versafine onyx black ink and Tim Holtz distress oxide ink in mermaid lagoon. I die cut the paper to create a panel using a stitched rectangle die by Gina Marie Designs. I stamped the sentiment from the Skipping Stone Design Heartsong I stamp set onto the panel and layered it onto my white card base using more patterned papers from the same Cosmo Cricket paper pad. To finish my card off I added some black dashed lines around the outer edge of the card for some added contrast and a few turquoise 6mm sequins from The Ton. I can't wait to see how our quote inspires you! Thank you for stopping off at my blog today.

If You Can Read This Thank A Teacher
Today's card was created for the May/June Words 2 Craft By challenge. This month our phrase is "If you can read this, thank a teacher." I have a friend who is retiring this month after 20+ years as a teacher in our local school system and I plan on giving this card to her as a retirement card. I thought it was perfect.
To create my card I started with a kraft card base and die cut a white panel using the Lawn Fawn speech bubble border die. Using the Lawn Fawn Claire's ABC's alpha stamp set I stamped the phrase using Versafine onyx black ink. I stamped the small apple image directly under the quote using Memento tuxedo black ink and the Paper Smooches Falling For You stamp set. I colored the image using my Copic markers. I then added some stitched black lines all around the border of the speech bubble panel and adhered it directly onto my card. I then stamped the larger apple image from the same Paper Smooches stamp set onto some white Copic-friendly cardstock and some patterned paper from the Cosmo Cricket Tea For Two 6x6 paper pad. I fussy cut the images, added some coloring to the stems using my alcohol markers, edged them all with my Memento dual tip marker, and adhered them together using my Zig 2 way glue pen. I adhered the green apple directly to the card and then popped the red apple up off of the card using Stampin' UP foam dimensionals. Thank you for visiting my blog today and I look forward to seeing all of the fun creations you all come up with the phrase!

Send A Smile 4 Kids Valentine
Today's card was created for the latest Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge. The challenge is to create anything goes or something Valentine's Day. To create my card I started by stamping the ketchup and mustard bottles and the hotdog from the Sweet Stamp Shop's Perfect Match stamp set onto some white Copic-friendly cardstock and colored them using my alcohol markers. I also took an extra piece of the same cardstock and covered it with same red marker I used to color the ketchup. I cut two small strips of paper and die cut a few hearts using Stampin' UP's build an owl punch. I love the tiny little heart on that punch! I fussy cut the images out and edged them with my Memento tuxedo black dual tip marker. I then adhered some patterned paper from the Cosmo Cricket 2twenty thr3e 6x6 paper pad onto my white card base. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set and adhered the colored strips I created. I popped the images up off of the card using Stampin' UP's foam dimensionals and glue the hearts down. For a finishing touch I added some black dashed lines at the top and bottom of the main focal panel to help divide the accent paper. I think it turned out super cute! Thank you for visiting my blog today!

I'm Sarcastic. What's Your Superpower?
I realized today that it had been a week since I had posted a card. I don't know how time slipped away from me but I guess work just took over this week. Anyway, I decided to crack out a few of my favorite Riley and Company stamps and have some fun. I started with a base of new leaf cardstock from Papertrey Ink and layered on some pretty patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket's Tea For Two 6x6 paper line. I die cut a circle using MFT's pierced circle dies from a piece of grid paper from My Mind's Eye's Be Happy honey flourish 12x12 paper and added some dashed lines using my Memento tuxedo black dual marker pen. I stamped the Winking Gal image from the Retro Folks line in Memento tuxedo black ink and colored her in using Copic markers. I added some clear Wink of Stella glitter pen to her pretty red dress and a few clear gemstones from The Paper Studio to add some additional bling. I stamped the sentiment from Riley and Company's Funny Bones line and then matted it and the focal image out on some more leaf green cardstock and popped them up on some foam stamping dimensionals from Stampin' UP. Love the way it turned out! Thanks for stopping by!
