Season's Greetings

 

Today's card was created for the latest AAA Cards clean and simple challenge. I will be the first to admit that I struggle with clean and simple cards. I love layers and lots of elements on a card, but I wanted to challenge myself and do something outside of my comfort zone. I just picked up the Concord & 9th Merry Mantle stamp set during a 4th of July sale and thought the wreath in that set would be perfect for this challenge. I stamped it onto some white Copic-friendly cardstock, colored it using my alcohol markers, fussy cut the image, and then edged it with my Memento dual tip marker for nice clean lines. I then die cut a stitched rectangle using Paper Rose stackable dies. I stamped the sentiment from the same Concord & 9th stamp set onto the panel and then popped it up off of my card using 3M foam tape. I then added more foam tape behind my wreath and popped it up over the sentiment. To finish my card off I added some red Stickles around the wreath to mimic berries. A Very Merry Christmas-SAS4Kids

 

Hello, and welcome to the July Send A Smile 4 Kids card challenge! This month we are celebrating Christmas in July. The challenge is to create a Christmas card to give to a child. To create my card I started by stamping the adorable Santa image from Inkadinkado's Christmas Characters stamp set onto some 110lb white cardstock using Memento tuxedo black ink. I did some simple coloring on the image using my alcohol markers and then die cut the image into a circle focal panel using a Gina Marie Designs double pierced edge circle die. I die cut a larger circle out of real red cardstock from Stampin' UP using a Spellbinders circle die and then layered the two panels together. I then embossed the background panel using a Provocraft 25 Days Of Christmas embossing folder and adhered it directly to my white A2 card. I cut down some panels from the My Mind's Eye Oh What Fun 6x6 paper pad, framed them out using more real red cardstock and adhered them directly to the card panel. I stamped the sentiment from the same Inkadinkado stamp set using Memento tuxedo black ink, cut it down into a small sentiment panel, and backed it against more real red cardstock. To finish the card off I popped both the sentiment and the focal panel up off the card using some 3M foam tape. I can't wait to see what everyone else on the design team came up with this month! The Journey Is The Destination-Coffee And Cards With Celeste And Deb

Hello, and welcome to another Coffee and Cards with Celeste and Deb collaboration. Deb and I decided to create masculine cards this month in honor of Father's Day. To create my card I started by stamping the boat image from Tim Holtz Here And There stamp set onto some white 110lb cardstock using Versafine onyx black ink and heat set it with Zing clear embossing powder. I then stamped the stripes onto the bottom of the card panel using the Winter Wishes stamp set from Simon Says Stamp and heat emossed that as well. I stamped the sentiment from the same Tim Holtz stamp set and heat embossed it and cut it down into a think sentiment strip. I created the background by stamping the World Map background stamp from Stampin' UP using white cardstock and Versafine onyx black ink. I then started assembling my card using basic black cardstock from Stampin' UP and finished the card off with some small black gems that were left over from a diamond kit that I created for my living room. I literally had an entire bag of them left over and thought they would make great embellishments so I saved them. All I had to do was add a small dab of glue onto the cardstock to adhere them.

You Make Life Sweet

 

Today's card was created for both The Paper Players and Freshly Made Sketches card challenges. To create my card I started by stamping the apple images from the Freshly Squeezed Stamps The Sweet Life stamp set onto some patterned paper from Echo Park's Flower Market 6x6 paper pad and fussy cut the images out. I cut a narrow strip of paper from the same paper pad and used that as my side panel. I popped the apple basket and apples up off of the A2 white card base using foam squares from Scrapbook Adhesives and then stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set directly below it using Versafine onyx black ink. To complete the card I simply rounded the right upper and lower corners using my We R Memory Keepers corner chomper. Thank you for visiting my blog today. Be sure to leave a comment. Thank You Ever So Much

 

Hello, happy Saturday! Today's card was created for the latest Inspired By card challenge. To create my card I started by stamping the fun watermelon image from the Impression Obsession Watermelon Layering stamp set onto some 110lb white cardstock using Altenew inks. I fussy cut the image out and popped it up onto a focal panel I created by die cutting it with a Gina Marie stitched rectangle die. I stamped the sentiment from the Altenew Apothecary Labels stamp set using Versafine onyx black ink and Versamark clear ink, black cardstock, and Ranger white detail embossing powder. I adhered the mini sentiment below the stamped one and mounted the watermelon above it using some Scrapbook Adhesives foam squares. I then framed the focal panel onto some basic black cardstock from Stampin' UP and then framed that onto some light green textured cardstock from Hobby Lobby. I mounted all of that onto my white A2 card base and finished it off using some black gems from Ki. I don't make them very often but I love when I can pull of a clean and simple card. If Friends Were Flowers-Coffee And Cards By Celeste And Deb

 

Hello and welcome to the May Coffee and Cards with Celeste and Deb collaboration! This month Deb and I thought it would be fun to play with stencils. To create my card I started by inking a background using some basic 110lb white cardstock, the Sunrise Radiating Rays stencil by My Favorite Things, and Tim Holtz squeezed lemonade distress oxide ink. Using my mini Misti I stamped the sentiment from the Stampendous Hand Of Friendship stamp set directly onto the panel using Memento tuxedo black ink. I stamped the hand and the flower from the same stamp set onto some separate white Copic-friendly cardstock, colored it using my alcohol markers, and then fussy cut the entire image out. I mounted it onto the panel using some 3M foam tape. To finish off the card I added some yellow Stickles to the center of the flower and the bracelets and some pretty yellow 6mm sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. Love how this card turned out!

Happy Birthday

 

Hello and happy Sunday! I haven't had much time for crafting lately but it's been raining here in Southeast Missouri most of the day, so I was forced indoors. It's the perfect day to sit inside and get inky. Today's card was created for the latest Freshly Made Sketches and Color Throwdown challenges. To create my card I started by stamping the Sketchy Lines Background stamp by Simon Says Stamp onto some white cardstock using Gina K Designs mango ink and die cut a circle window out of the panel. I adhered the panel directly to my white A2 card base. I stamped a few black dots from the Stampendous Sunny Flowers stamp set on the circle background using Memento tuxedo black ink. I then stamped the leaves from the Stampin' UP Kinda Eclectic stamp set using Gina K Designs fresh asparagus ink and fussy cut them out. I adhered them around the circle using a glue pen. I then stamped the flowers from Stampin' UP's Flower Shop stamp set using Memento tuxedo black ink and colored them in using pink Copic markers. I added some white gel pen dots to the centers and then punched them out using the coordinating punch from Stampin' UP. I popped the flowers up using foam dimensionals from Scrapbook Adhesives. I then stamped the sentiment from the Verve Stamps Poppy Birthday using versamark ink onto some black cardstock and heat set it using Ranger white detail embossing powder. I cut the sentiment down to a narrow strip and popped it up next to the flowers using my foam dimensionals. To finish off my card I added some clear rhinestones from Paper Studios. Love how pretty this card turned out!

Dad You're A Star-Send A Smile 4 Kids

Hello and happy May 1st! This month's Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge focuses on cards to give to dads/grandpas/special men. To create my card I started by stamping the sports shirt, football, and foam finger from the Alley Way Stamps Touchdown stamp set onto patterned papers from the Graphic 45 Good Ol' Sports and Echo Park's This & That 6x6 paper pads and fussy cut the images out. I layered some basic black cardstock from Stampin' UP onto my white A2 card base and then layered more patterned papers from the Graphic 45 Good Ol' Sports on top. I added a small 1/2" strip of the basic black cardstock to break up the patterns. I then die cut a white piece of cardstock using a Spellbinders simple circle die and matted it onto a larger circle of basic black using a pierced edge circle die by My Favorite Things. I adhered both circles together and glued them directly onto the card using my snail adhesive. I then stamped the letters DAD from the Alley Way Stamps set onto the sports jersey using Memento tuxedo black ink and then using selective inking I stamped the "you are a star" from the Altenew Apothecary Labels stamp set below it. To finish off my card I added 3 small circles that I cut from the same Graphic 45 paper pad using a small circle punch from EK Success and adhered them directly to the patterned paper in the upper left hand corner. I can't wait to see how everyone else is inspired this month!

 

Sending Love Your Way-Coffee And Cards With Celeste And Deb

 

April is National Letter Writing Month, so in honor of that Deb and I decided to create a card honoring snail mail. I love this idea. As card makers, we all still love and respect the idea of actually sending happy mail to the people we love.

I wanted to keep my card simple so I stamped the image and sentiment from The Unity Stamp Company's Sending My Love stamp set onto some white 110lb cardstock in Memento tuxedo black ink and colored the image using my Copic markers. I stamped one of the envelopes from the same stamp set, colored it, fussy cut it out, cut a slit in the mailbox, and adhered it directly to the card panel. I added some white gel pen to the images and then adhered the whole panel to the A2 white card base. 

I was out running around doing errands today, so I popped into the Starbucks at our local Target and got myself a very tasty almond milk cold brew latte! Now, be sure to pop on over to Deb's blog to see how she was inspired.
