I love U-Unity Stamp Company Paper Piecing Challenge

Hello and happy Sunday! It's cold, wet, and rainy here today and I'm fighting a cold, so I'm enjoying a lazy Sunday in my sweats with a piping cup of coffee and some Pandora. My card today was created for the latest Facebook Unity {Show & Tell} paper piecing challenge. To create my card I started by stamping the Unity Stamp Company's Love Bug stamp onto some kraft cardstock from Hobby Lobby. I stamped the image again onto some patterned paper from the Crate Paper Little Bo Peep 6x6 paper pad and fussy cut the image. I went around the outer edges with my Memento dual tip marker to give it a nice, clean finished look and adhered it directly to the cardstock. I added some dimension and shadowing to the stamped image using my Copic markers and added some white gel pen to the rearview mirror. I stamped the sentiment from the same Unity stamp set onto the license plate bracket using Versafine onyx black ink. To add some additional interest to the card I cut a small strip of patterned paper from the same paper pad and added a decorative border on the top and bottom using an edge die from Stamplorations. I adhered the strip down to the card base and added some decorative hearts die cut from the same paper pad using a Paper Smooches heart die. I rounded the corners of the panel using my We R Memory Keepers corner chomper and adhered it to my A2 white card base. To finish this card off I added some black dashed lines around the outer edge of the card, the hearts, and the decorative strip. Thank you for visiting my blog today, and if you like my card be sure to leave a comment. I read and appreciate them all!

Merry & Bright

Okay, this is my final card for the day. I've been on something of a tear. I honestly had every intention of getting outside to do some yard work but I went and had a big lunch with my bestie and her daughter who was home from college and my full belly pretty much shot my desire to get out in the yard and pull weeds and dig up old flowers. So, I sat inside and made pretty things instead! This card was created for the latest Unity Show & Tell Facebook challenge. I love this pretty sketch and wanted to use a new stamp set that I'd picked up on the last Unity Stamp Company sale. I started by layering some pretty patterned papers from the Heidi Swapp Noel 6x6 paper pad onto my white card base. I then stamped the beautiful Angie girl from the Joy Girl stamp set onto some Copic friendly white carstock. I stamped the image several times onto various pieces of the same patterned paper so I could fussy cut the images out and paper piece the sweater, ornament, and hat onto the image. I colored and shaded all of the images, glued them all together, and then die cut the entire panel using a pretty stitched edge rectangle die from Gina Marie Designs. I added some two glue to a few of the details on the image and sprinkled some micro glitter in both sparkling clear and black. I just love how sparkly and pretty it turned out. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set onto white cardstock and cut it down by hand to create a small fishtail banner. I popped it and the focal panel up off of the card using some foam squares from Scrapbook Adhesives. I hope you like it!

With Sympathy

My final card today was created for the Unity {Show & Tell} Facebook group color challenge. I die cut a piece of Canson coldpress watercolor paper using a stitched edge rectangle die from Gina Marie Designs and then stamped the magnolia from the Unity Stamp Let Your Dreams Bloom stamp set using Versafine onyx black ink and some clear embossing powder. I heat set the flower and then watercolored it using Tim Holtz distress ink in pumice stone and colored the background using salty ocean. I added a few tiny splatters of the salty ocean for some additional interest. I stamped and heat set the sentiment from Papertrey Ink's Botanical Silhouettes onto a strip of vellum and attached it to the inner panel. I adhered the die cut panel to some smokey grey cardstock from Stampin' UP and adhered it all down to my white cardbase. I added some silver Wink of Stella to the blooms for some shimmer and a few 4mm and 6mm clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. Love how pretty this turned out.

Sometimes

My card today was created for the latest Unity Photo Challenge over on the Unity (show & tell) Facebook group. I love the gorgeous pattern in the inspiration photo and knew I had some lovely patterned paper that was similar. Both the rust and blue dotted patterned paper and the funky floral paper are from the Little Yellow Bicycle Fern & Forest 6x6 paper pad, which I happened to pick up on sale for $2.99 at my local Tuesday Morning. I felt that the patterns and colors pretty closely matched the inspiration colors. I wanted to use the Unity Stamp Company stamp set Rebuild Herself because the image is just so stunning and the sentiments are so very beautiful. I inked both the image and the sentiment onto some Copic-friendly 110 lb white cardstock from Staples using Memento tuxedo black ink. I colored the beautiful image using my Copic markers in shades of brown and blue and did some highlighting around the lettering on the sentiment and colored in the heart using some rusty reds. Using my Pebbles chalks I added a bit of light blue around the image for a light background and added a few sequins from The Ton. I adhered a piece of black cardstock from Hobby Lobby onto my cardbase and layered my patterned papers on top. I matted my focal image and sentiment onto the same black cardstock and then popped them both up off of the card using some 3M foam tape. I just love how beautifully this turned out!
