My second card today was created for The Challenge. The challenge was to make a Christmas card using the inspiration photo. I loved the the Ho Ho Ho sentiment and wanted that to be the focus of my card. I found a wonderful card sometime back on Pinterest and saved it to my board but had forgotten about it until today. I wanted to replicate it but with my own twist. I started by embossing the sentiment from the My Favorite Things Grand Holiday Greetings using Versamark ink and heat embossed it onto some black cardstock using Recollections snow white detail embossing powder. I love the contrast of the crisp white against the black. I adhered that to my red cardstock and layered that onto my white card base. I punched a white border using the Stampin' UP dotted scallop ribbon border punch and punched the buttons for Santa's jacket using black cardstock and an EK Success 1/4" circle punch. Using my Nestibilities large scalloped circled dies I die cut the collar and adhered that onto the card and called this card done! Pretty simple and easy to replicate. I have to make several of these this year!
For my third and probably final card for the hop I decided to use a stamp set that Ann Custer sent me as a winning prize from the last Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. I'm not much of a tea drinker but I love this beautiful image and thought it would make a lovely thank you card. I stamped the image using Memento tuxedo black ink. I colored the image using Copic markers in shades of warm grey, pink, and light green. I added some clear Wink of Stella glitter pen to the teapot, cup, and spoon for some beautiful shimmer. I then added some pink Stickles onto the roses for some dimension and additional glittery shine. I cut my panel out using a Nestibilities circle die and matted it onto a piece of chocolate chip brown cardstock that I felt wasn't dark enough so I colored it darker with my Copic E49 marker. That gave it that dark espresso color I was looking for. I cut that piece of cardstock out using an MFT pierced circle die and matted the two together and added some dashed lines using a Zig writer pen in chocolate. I layered some gorgeous pink patterned papers from the My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Madison Avenue 6x6 paper collection. I cut the fish tail banner using a Jillian Vance banner die. I added a few espresso sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and that completes my final card for the hop. Enjoy!
I'm so excited because this will be the third Coffee Lovers Bloghop that I've participated in but the first one that I've participated in on my blog. I had always used Flickr and I know that not everyone has a Flickr account so my post will exclude no one from commenting! I plan on posting several creations but this is my first one this week. I started with the beautiful patterned papers from Simple Stories Take A Hike 6x6 paper pack. I layered them onto my white card base using some Stampin' UP chocolate chip cardstock. I stamped the to-go coffee cup from My Style Stamps Coffee Lovers stamp set onto some of the patterned papers and fussy cut them out. I went around the edges of each piece with my Memento tuxedo black dual tip marker to make them look like they were perfectly cut. I glued each peice together using snail adhesive and then popped them up using Stampin' UP foam dimensionals. I used a Nestibilites postage edge rectangle die to cut the center panel and mounted it onto some more chocolate chip cardstock and stamped the adorable sentiment from Reverse Confetti's I Like You stamp set in charcoal brown ink by Gina K. I just how sweet this card is and plan on making several of these to give out to my coffee loving friends!
I have several stamp sets by Taylored Expressions but have never joined one of their challenges. Not sure why but today I decided to give it a go! This week's challenge is a Sketch and Tic Tac Toe. I followed the sketch pretty closely and opted for the center line, top to bottom...sequins, twin, and embossing. I started with plain white card base and added a layer of pretty patterned paper from the Studio Calico Story Time 6x6 paper pad. I embossed a piece of plain white cardstock using the Spots & Dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug. I die cut a few nesting circles using the same paper pad and a smaller circle die from Nestibilities and a larger pierced edge one from My Favorite Things. I stamped the adorable onesie from the Taylored Expressions Onesie Twosie stamp set and fussy cut it out and the trim in an alternating paper just for some additional interest. I edged the images with a Memento tuxedo black dual tip marker to make it look clean around the edges. I popped it up using some Stampin' UP foam dimensionals and adhered that onto the card base over the embossed panel. I die cut an oval from the same paper pad using a My Favorite Things pierced edge die and stamped the congrats sentiment from the same stamp set. I die cut the banners using the same papers and the County Fair dies from The Cat's Pajamas , stamped the word baby using the stamps from the same stamp set, popped them up using foam dimensionals, and created some bows using some white cross stitch thread. Once everything was adhered to the card base I added a few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and some pink Stickles in the center of the sequins, over the banner sentiment, and in all of the circles on the embossed panel. I knew as soon as I saw the challenge over at The Paper Players today that I would have to create a Halloween card. I love everything about fall...the pumpkins, the foliage, the cool, crisp air, and I especially loved trick or treating as a kid. As soon as the cool air would hit I knew I had to start thinking about a costume. Well, the characters in the Darcie's Bootiful Halloween stamp set have the most adorable costumes and decided to stamp all three of them to create a sweet little nighttime scene. I stamped each character out using Memento tuxedo black ink, colored them using Copic markers, fussy cut them out and edged them all with a black Memento dual tip marker so they would have nice clean edges. I stamped the trick or treat bag as well and adhered that onto one of the characters. I stamped the smallest pumpkin from Lawn Fawn's So Thankful stamp set, colored it with Copics, and fussy cut it as well. I die cut the trees from both of the tree dies from Paper Smooches in Stampin' UP black cardstock, and die cut the grass from a Paper Smooches die and colored it using Copic markers as well. I cut a white cardstock panel 1/4" smaller than my card base and used distress inks in black soot, faded jeans, and concord and then sprayed the whole thing with a mini mister to add some distressing. Once it dried I splattered some white ink on using Distress spray stain in picket fence. I die cut the moon from a Nestibilities round die, Copic colored it, and then stamped one of the adorable sentiments from the Darcie's stamp set. It turned out so cute!
