Butterfly Happy Birthday

Today's card was created for the latest Watercooler Wednesday card challenge. To create my card I started by cutting a piece of Stampin' UP basic black cardstock into a pretty decorative border using a Stamplorations Cutplorations decorative edge die. I adhered it to some pretty patterned paper from the Studio Calico Atlantic 6x6 paper pad and layered it onto my standard white card base. I then stamped the sentiment from the Winnie & Walter The Big, the Bold, and the Happy stamp set directly onto the card base using Versafine onyx black ink and my mini-Misti to ensure nice, crisp lines. I stamped the butterfly image from the Bo Bunny Flutter Stamp stamp set onto some Canson watercolor paper using Versafine onyx black ink and heat set it using some Zing clear embossing powder. I watercolored the image using some Tim Holtz distress ink and attached it to the card using some glue dots and some foam dimensionals. I added a few clear rhinestones from Recollections and some clear Wink of Stella glitter to the butterfly for a nice finishing touch. Thank you for visiting my blog! Thinking Of You

Hello and happy Sunday! Today's card was created for the latest Freshly Made Sketches. To create my card I started by cutting a piece of patterned paper from the Studio Calico Atlantic 6x6 paper pad into a panel using a wonky edge stitched rectangle die from Gina Marie Designs. I mounted it straight to my white card base. I then cut a small strip of basic black cardstock from Stampin' UP and mounted it onto the card. I die cut a white circle using some white cardstock from Staples and a Spellbinders circle die. I mounted it directly to the card panel. I then stamped the flower from Stampendous Fresh Bloom wood mounted stamp using Versafine onyx black ink and heat set it using some clear embossing powder from Zing. I then watercolored the image using some inexpensive watercolors I picked up at Hobby Lobby. Once the image was dry I fussy cut it out and went around the edges using my Memento tuxedo black dual tip marker and added some white gel pen detail to the flower's stamen.  I stamped the sentiment from the Hero Arts OWH Year Round Sentiments stamp set using Versafine and heat set it as well. I cut the sentiment down into a small strip banner and mounted it directly to the flower and then popped it all up using some inexpensive fun foam. Love how pretty this turned out with the ombre of the watercoloring and the ombre of the patterned paper. I thank you for stopping by my blog today!

Friends Furrever

Today's card was created for the latest Less Is More card challenge. To create my card I started by layering a piece of muted light blue patterned paper from the Studio Calico's Atlantic 6x6 paper pad onto my white card base. I then die cut a scrap piece of paper from the Pink Paislee Hey Kid 6x6 paper pad using the Tag Stitched Wise die and a stitched border die both from Paper Smooches. I die cut the tag again using the same die and some white cardstock from Staples and layered the patterned paper to the bottom. I stamped the sentiment from the Paper Smooches Feline Friends stamp set on the bottom using Versafine onyx black ink. My bits and pieces were the ribbon and the focal images for my tag. The striped ribbon is what's left over of a roll of American Crafts Halloween ribbon I had, the white gauze ribbon is a scrap I'd gotten in a freebie bag on a blog hop win, and the adorable little dog and his water dish were stamped and colored at a friends house while I was playing with her Avery Elle Furry Friends stamp set. I stamped the images and took them home with me months ago but never colored them. I decided to use them for this fun card. I colored them using my alcohol markers and fussy cut them by hand I adhered them to my tag using Stampin' UP foam dimensionals and popped the whole tag up off of my card using some fun foam from Hobby Lobby. Hello Spring

Today's card was created for the latest Time Out Challenge. To create my card I started by die cutting a panel out of patterned paper from the Doodlebug Design Springtime 6x6 paper pad using a funky edge rectangle die from Gina Marie Designs. I popped the panel up off the card using some inexpensive fun foam I picked up at Hobby Lobby. I stamped the floral background onto some Copic-friendly cardstock using the Inkadinkado Garden Life stamp set and colored it using my alcohol markers. I die cut it down to a circle panel using a x-edge circle die from Gina Marie Designs and then matted it onto a piece of patterned paper from the same paper pad that I had cut down into a large scalloped circle using a die from Spellbinders. I stamped the butterfly from the same stamp set, colored it with my alcohol markers, fussy cut it out, and popped it up off of the circle panel using some foam dimensionals from Scrapbook Adhesives. I then stamped the girl image from the C.C. Designs Rainy Day Emma stamp set onto some Copic-friendly cardstock. I stamped the image again several times onto more of the patterned paper from the same paper pad and fussy cut them out and glued them onto the colored image. I fussy cut the entire image and edged it with my dual tip Memento tuxedo black marker. I popped her up off of the card using more foam dimensionals. I then stamped the sentiment from the Studio Calico stamp set onto some white cardstock and cut it down into a small sentiment strip and mounted it directly to the bottom of the focal panel. To complete my card I added some clear sequins in 6mm and 4mm from Pretty Pink Posh and then added some shimmer to the butterfly, flowers, and the girl's outfit using my Spectrum Noir clear glitter pen. Send A Smile 4 Kids...Future DJ

Hello, and thank you for visiting my blog. I am guest designing over at the Send A Smile 4 Kids blog today with a fun little digital monkey stamp from All Dressed Up Stamps. I created my card by coloring in the adorable little digital stamp using my Copic alcohol markers and die cutting it using an X edge circle die by Gina Marie Designs. I then layered some awesome masculine patterned papers from Studio Calico's Here & There 6x6 paper pad onto my white card base. I used a fun sketch layout that I had been featured on last week's Mojo Monday blog. I popped the image up off of the card using some Stampin' UP foam dimensionals and called this card done. It's Your Special Day

Today's card was created for the latest Unity Show & Tell Facebook sketch challenge. I started by layering some pretty patterned paper from Studio Calico's Take Note 6x6 paper pad onto my card, following the sketch. I then die cut a piece of white Copic-friendly cardstock using a Gina Marie Designs wonky stitch rectangle border die. I stamped the image from Unity Stamp Company's Grace of Letting Go stamp set using Memento tuxedo black ink and colored her in with Copic markers to coordinate with the patterned paper and then popped the panel up off of the card using 3M foam tape. I used a 1/2" circle punch from EK Success to punch the three smokey grey dots that I used as a coordinating element and adhered them directly onto the card using my Zig two-way glue pen. To finish my card I stamped the sentiment from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Crazy Talk stamp set. I hope you like it!

Anniversary Joy

Today's card was created for my aunt and uncle's upcoming anniversary at the end of this month. I started with some pretty patterned paper from the Chickaniddy Scrumptious 6x6 paper pad and die cut an oval in the center using an MFT pierced oval die.  I adhered the patterned paper directly onto my white card base and then added some black stitched lines around the outer edge of the patterned paper and the inner edge of the oval panel. I then die cut the word Joy using some black cardstock from Hobby Lobby and  the coordinating die from Papertrey Ink's Phrase Play #8 stamp and die set. I fussy cut around the panel cutting the word "joy" from the frame because I just wanted the word itself. I adhered the die cut sentiment directly onto the card using my Zig 2 way glue pen. I then stamped the word anniversary above the die cut using a Studio Calico-Hero Arts stamp set. I apologize for not knowing the name of this stamp set but I bought it used on a destash and it has no name on it. Using some mini Stampin' UP dies I die cut the flower petals using some more patterned paper from the Chickaniddy paper pad and layered them together. I punched some more of the same black cardstock using an EK Success 1/2" circle punch and adhered them directly on top of the flowers and then adhered those directly onto the card on either side of the oval. Once adhered I added a few clear rhinestones from The Paper Studios and called this card done. I hope you like it!

Happy Birthday

My first card today was created for the latest The Paper Players challenge. I knew as soon as I saw the circle challenge that I had to create something funky and graphic. I started with some patterned papers from Studio Calico's There There 6x6 paper pad and layered them onto my white card base. Using the same patterned papers and some olive green cardstock from Hobby Lobby I die cut some circles using nesting dies from Spellbinders. I cut the centers of the circles smaller and slightly off center to create a funky, cool, and very graphic look. I cut slits into the some of the circles and looped them together and adhered them onto my patterned paper panel, trimming off any excess that extended off of the edge of the paper. I then adhered the panel down onto the card and added a thing strip of the same olive green cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the Stampabilities Card Phrases stamp set using Versafine onyx black ink. I love this cool and masculine look and hope you do too! I have to apologize for the quality of my photo. My phone died yesterday and my tablet doesn't photograph with the same clarity as my phone did. I hope to remedy that this week. 

Congratulations On Your Little Princess

My third card today was created for the Share Joy challenge over on the Taylored Expressions blog. I kept it pretty simple by starting with a white card base and layering some patterned papers from Studio Calico's Story Time 6x6 collection on top. Using my Hot Off The Press Stitched Border stamp set I stamped a zigzag along the edge of the two patterned papers using Memento tuxedo black ink. I die cut a rectangle stitched panel from white cardstock using a Gina Marie Design die and mounted it straight onto the card and the glued some white rickrack from Wright's 1/4 of the way down the panel. I created a small bow and attached it using some glue dots. I stamped the adorable onesie from Taylored Expressions Onesie Twosie stamp set onto some of the patterned paper as well as the little crown and fussy cut those out. After gluing the crown directly onto the onesie I mounted it up off of the card using some Stampin' UP foam dimensionals and then stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set. Love how sweet and simple this card is!

Baby

I have several stamp sets by Taylored Expressions but have never joined one of their challenges. Not sure why but today I decided to give it a go! This week's challenge is a Sketch and Tic Tac Toe. I followed the sketch pretty closely and opted for the center line, top to bottom...sequins, twin, and embossing. I started with plain white card base and added a layer of pretty patterned paper from the Studio Calico Story Time 6x6 paper pad. I embossed a piece of plain white cardstock using the Spots & Dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug. I die cut a few nesting circles using the same paper pad and a smaller circle die from Nestibilities and a larger pierced edge one from My Favorite Things. I stamped the adorable onesie from the Taylored Expressions Onesie Twosie stamp set and fussy cut it out and the trim in an alternating paper just for some additional interest. I edged the images with a Memento tuxedo black dual tip marker to make it look clean around the edges. I popped it up using some Stampin' UP foam dimensionals and adhered that onto the card base over the embossed panel. I die cut an oval from the same paper pad using a My Favorite Things pierced edge die and stamped the congrats sentiment from the same stamp set. I die cut the banners using the same papers and the County Fair dies from The Cat's Pajamas , stamped the word baby using the stamps from the same stamp set, popped them up using foam dimensionals, and created some bows using some white cross stitch thread. Once everything was adhered to the card base I added a few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and some pink Stickles in the center of the sequins, over the banner sentiment, and in all of the circles on the embossed panel.
