Happy April! This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids we are celebrating moms/special ladies. My card could work for Mother's Day, birthday, or simply any special occasion. To create my card, I started by stamping the blooms from Simon Says Stamp's Like Your Style stamp set onto some crumbcake cardstock from Stampin' UP using Colorbox frost white pigment ink. I then stamped the black lines, the hanger, and the sentiment from the same stamp set using Gina K Designs black pigment ink. On a separate piece of white cardstock I stamped the dress and more of the florals onto the dress using Tim Holtz carved pumpkin distress ink and did a little ink blending at the bottom. I also stamped the mini hearts in the same color. I fussy cut all of the images out. I adhered the hearts directly to the card using liquid glue. I added some peach twine from Stampin' UP directly to the card and tied a bow and popped the image up off of the card using Stampin' UP foam dimensionals. To add a little interest to the card I added a strip of patterned paper by My Mind's Eye from the Follow Your Heart 12x12 paper pad directly to the bottom of the card panel and then added a tiny strip of cardstock I had colored with the same carved pumpkin distress ink to match. I adhered the focal panel to my white A2 card base and then added some white gel pen details for some added interest. Thank you for stopping by my blog today! Today's card was created for the latest The Card Concept Challenge. I absolutely love everything about this gorgeous inspiration photo and wanted to create a card using as many of the elements as I could in the photo. To create my card I started by stamping a piece of kraft cardstock using a Heidi Swapp woodgrain background stamp and ColorBox chalk ink in charcoal. I dried the cardstock with my heat tool and then went over the paper with more Colorbox charcoal ink in unicorn to give it a nice whitewashed look. I set that aside and then stamped several of the floral images from the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Flower Garden stamp set onto some Copic-friendly cardstock. I colored the flowers to match the photo using my alcohol markers. I then stamped the sentiment from the Winnie & Walter The Big,the Bold, and the Happy stamp set using Versafine onyx black ink for a nice crisp look. I die cut the panel using a Gina Marie Designs stitched rectangle die and popped it up off of the card using some 3M foam tape. I hope you like my card and I thank you for visiting my blog!
My final card today was created for the Less Is More masculine card challenge. I tell you...I love making masculine cards. They are so much fun for me! I started with a plain white card base and layered on some old grey patterned paper I'd picked up at Hobby Lobby and layered on some red cardstock and then some white. I stamped the city skyscape from Close To My Heart's super powers stamp set using some Colorbox charcoal grey ink. I used a Stampin' UP borders dotted line stamp to create the top border and then used to speech bubble from the CTMH stamp to create the sentiment which I stamped using Paper Trey Ink's petite alpha in the same grey ink. I stamped the super hero image in Memento tuxedo black ink and colored him to look like Superman using my Copic markers. I popped him up on some Stampin' UP foam dimensionals to sort of look like he was hovering above the city. I love this adorable stamp set! So fun and so versatile!
For my second card today I created another fun masculine card for the Less Is More masculine card challenge. This one could work for both teens and adults. I actually sent my son a very similar card to this a few years ago. I started with a plain white card base and layered on some distressed grey paper that I had picked up at Hobby Lobby. I took a lighter distressed grey paper and inked it up with the Unity Stamps Splatters and Stars stamp set in a Colorbox charcoal grey ink. I stamped and die cut the guitar from Paper Trey Ink's You Rock stamp set and used the coordinating die to cut it out. I stamped the sentiment onto the panel and popped the guitar up using Stampin' UP foam dimensionals. I stamped some lines using Stampin' UP's old olive ink and the Colorbox charcoal grey ink and layered that at the bottom. A few dashed lines in black Memento tuxedo black ink using my dual tip marker wraps this card up. I hope you like it!
I don't send out a lot of Halloween cards but I have a friend who is a fellow fan of The Walking Dead and thought I would pop this one in the mail for her and it would be perfect for the new Can You Case It challege. I started with a base of black cardstock from Hobby Lobby. I stamped a Heidi Grace chevron background stamp onto some smoke grey cardstock (also from Hobby Lobby) using some Colorbox chalk ink in charcoal. I then stamped the happy Halloween sentiment from MSE Hallween Innies & Outies stamp set in Versafine onyx black ink. I stamped the blood splatter and the nom nom from the Sweet Stamp Shop Zombies stamp set. I took my white gel pen and added a few dots around the card background. I stamped the zombies onto some white cardstock and colored them in using Copic markers and added some clear Wink of Stella glitter pen and then popped them up onto some foam dimensionals by Stampin' UP. I added a bit of clear Wink of Stella to the blood and called this card done.
When I saw this color combo over at Color Throwdown I knew I wanted to try something different with it. I know I added an extra color with the spring green but I wanted all of my papers to coordinate and the green tied in the leaves on the blue floral paper. I started my card by stamping the adorable C.C. Designs Rainy Day Emma stamp out onto some 110 lb white cardstock. I colored her in using Copic markers and then stamped the raindrops from the Fresh Squeezed Stamps Weather Through stamp set in light blue Colorbox chalk ink. I then die cut the image out using MFT pierced oval dies. I them stamped the sentiment using Stampin' UP's See Ya Later stamp set and then covered up the cloud and rain image from the stamp with some pretty patterned paper from the backside of the Pebbles Hello journaling cards. I then stamped the Prima Marketing Floral & Script background stamp onto the smooth side of some watercolor paper using Versamark ink and heat embossed the image using some Recollections white ultrafine detail powder. I then watercolored the background using a dark yellow shade. I dried the panel with my heat tool and added some dashed lines in black using a Memento tuxedo black dual tip marker. I mounted the panel onto the spring green polka paper from the same journaling paper from Pebbles and added a few sequins in yellow from Pretty Pink Posh. I little clear Wink of Stella glitter pen on the little girl's raincoat and boots topped it all off!
