Zombie Coffee Card

Today's card was created for the latest Cards In Envy card challenge. The challenge is to create a "spooky" card. I can't think of anything spookier or scarier than someone jonesing for their caffeine fix! This is pretty  much me every single morning after my 5 am run...LOL. To create this fun card I started with a base of basic black cardstock by Stampin' UP and layered on a piece of patterned blue paper from the 7 Gypsies Venice 6x6 paper pad on top that I had inked around the edges with black soot distress ink by Tim Holtz. I die cut a circle of more patterned paper from the same paper pad, inked the edges, and adhered it to the card in the upper left hand corner. I stamped the zombie from the Sugar Pea Designs Undying Love stamp set onto some Copic-friendly white cardstock and colored him using my alcohol markers. I die cut the image into a focal panel using a stitched edge rectangle die from Gina Marie Designs. I popped him up off of the card using some 3M foam tape. To create the sentiment I used several different stamp sets...Sugar Pea Designs Undying Love, Honey Bee Stamps Blah, Blah, Blah, Verve Stamps Coffee, and Sweet Stamp Shops Zombies. I die cut the sentiment using a smaller stitched edge rectangle die by Gina Marie Designs and popped it up onto the card. To finish my card off I added some Glossy Accents to the zombie's eyes and added some 6mm black sequins from Pretty Pink Posh around the card for some balance and interest. Valentine Zombies

I am a huge The Walking Dead fan and love all things zombies. So, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to create a love themed card using a zombie them. I know...I have a sick sense of humor! To create my fun love-themed card I started by layering on some pretty ombre chevron striped patterned paper from the My Mind's Eye's Filled With Love 6x6 patterned paper pad onto my white card base. I die cut a heart using paper from the same paper pad and the largest die from the Essentials By Ellen Folk Heart die set and layered it directly onto my card. I then stamped the zombies from the SugarPea Designs Undying Love stamp set onto some white Copic-friendly cardstock. I colored them using my Copic markers in colors to coordinate with the patterned paper. I fussy cut the images out, edged them using my Memento tuxedo black dual tip marker and popped them up off of the card using Stampin' UP foam dimensionals. To finish my card I stamped the sentiment from the Technique Tuesday You Aren't Normal sentiment stamp set using Versafine onyx black ink and added some black dashed lines around the outer edges of the card and the heart. I absolutely love this card!!! I will be entering this card into the latest Paper Players

Coffee And Friends-Coffee And Cards With Celeste And Deb

Hello and welcome to another Coffee and Cards with Celeste and Deb collaboration. We have another guest designer with us this month, the wonderful Hetty Sanders. Hetty is a fabulous crafter from the Netherlands and is responsible for the Coffee Lovers card swap and we can't thank her enough for all of the tireless work she puts into making that happen each month!

  

This month we opted for a mood board and, I chose this pretty pastel palette for our starting point. Love the beautiful colors!  I wanted to create a fun and sweet card representing my friendship with my dear friend Deb. She and I met on the Coffee Lovers Facebook group years ago and have been close crafty friends ever since.  I created this card to represent Deb and I. She's blonde and I'm brunette and I think it's clear we both love our coffee! I started by cutting down some pretty ombre patterned paper in pink from the We R Memory Keepers Chalkboard 6x6 paper pad and mounted it directly onto my white card base. I then die cut a stitched line rectangle panel using some Canson cold press watercolor paper. I stamped the table from the Sugar Pea Designs Read Between The Lines stamp set using Versafine onyx black ink. The coffee cups are from the Your Next Stamp's Perk Up stamp set. The friends are the new Unity Stamp Company's Planner Gals, Don't Be Perfect and Be A Beauty. And the sentiment is from Reverse Confetti's Be A Barista stamp set. Once all of the images were dry I watercolored them using my Tim Holtz distress inks. To finish off the card I popped the panel up using some 3M foam tape, added some clear Wink of Stella to the flowers in their hair, the coffee mugs, and their shirts, and added a few clear rhinestones from Recollections as a finishing touch. 

As for my coffee choice this month, I opted for a small Starbucks Iced Cascara Coconut Milk Latte. It was good but not my favorite latte they offer. Anyway, be sure to pop on over to Hetty and Deb's site, and be sure and wish her a happy birthday too! 

Birthdays Are Like Zombies

I can't believe it's been two weeks since I posted a card here on my blog. I was training for a 5K with a friend and have been hitting the gym in the evenings to work on speed work on the treadmill. It worked...I shaved a whole minute off of my per mile time and came in first in my age group! I did it in 25.21 minutes.

 Anyway, all of that speed training left me lacking in the creative mojo department. I don't have another race for a month so am hoping to get a few cards created before then. 

Today's card was created for the latest Just Us Girls challenge. I started with a plain white card base and layered some funky geometric patterned paper from the Little Yellow Bicycle Fern & Forest 6x6 patterned paper pad on top. I then stamped the sentiment and zombie image from the Sugar Pea Undying Love stamp set onto some white Copic-friendly paper. I then die cut the image out using a Gina Marie stitched rectangle die. I mounted it onto some coordinating patterned paper from the same paper pad and then colored the image in using my alcohol markers. I popped the focal panel up off of the card using some 3M foam tape and angled it for some added interest. I hope you like this fun little card and thank you for taking the time to visit my blog! 

The Twelve Days of Christmas

For my second card I chose to use a new stamp set that I'd received as blog candy from SugarPea Designs called The Twelve Days of Christmas. It's actually supposed to be a companion stamp set to an image set they sell but I don't own those so I decided to let these adorable circle stamps take center stage. I started with a white card base and layered some super sparkly iridescent glitter paper from The Paper Studio cut to the same size as my card. I layered on a panel of forest green, also from The Paper Studio and then stamped my images in Versamark clear ink. I sprinkled on some silver detail embossing powder from Recollections and hit it with my heat tool. Once cool I popped that panel up using some foam tape for dimension and added some silver lawn trimmings from Lawn Fawn. I added some dots of glitter around the circles using my frosted lace Stickles and sprinkled on a few red metallic sequins that I picked up at my dollar store. I will be entering this card in Eclectic Ellapu December Challenge. The theme is the twelve days  of Christmas.
