Zombie Coffee Card

Today's card was created for the latest Cards In Envy card challenge. The challenge is to create a "spooky" card. I can't think of anything spookier or scarier than someone jonesing for their caffeine fix! This is pretty  much me every single morning after my 5 am run...LOL. To create this fun card I started with a base of basic black cardstock by Stampin' UP and layered on a piece of patterned blue paper from the 7 Gypsies Venice 6x6 paper pad on top that I had inked around the edges with black soot distress ink by Tim Holtz. I die cut a circle of more patterned paper from the same paper pad, inked the edges, and adhered it to the card in the upper left hand corner. I stamped the zombie from the Sugar Pea Designs Undying Love stamp set onto some Copic-friendly white cardstock and colored him using my alcohol markers. I die cut the image into a focal panel using a stitched edge rectangle die from Gina Marie Designs. I popped him up off of the card using some 3M foam tape. To create the sentiment I used several different stamp sets...Sugar Pea Designs Undying Love, Honey Bee Stamps Blah, Blah, Blah, Verve Stamps Coffee, and Sweet Stamp Shops Zombies. I die cut the sentiment using a smaller stitched edge rectangle die by Gina Marie Designs and popped it up onto the card. To finish my card off I added some Glossy Accents to the zombie's eyes and added some 6mm black sequins from Pretty Pink Posh around the card for some balance and interest. Thank You Tuxedo Card

Today's card was created for the latest Cards In Envy card challenge. To create my card I started by layering some black cardstock onto my white card base. I then layered some pretty black and white patterned paper from the Ki Modern Elegance 6x6 paper pad directly on top. I added a small strip of grey patterned paper from the same pad directly in the center as a way to break up the busy patterned paper. I then stamped the flower from the MFT Inspired By Flowers #4 stamp set onto some white cardstock and the sentiment from the Skipping Stones Design Heartsong II stamp set using my mini-Misti and Memento tuxedo black ink. I absolutely adore this floral image and use it a lot on simple sympathy and thank you cards. I popped the focal panel up off of the card using some cheap fun foam I picked up at Hobby Lobby. Welcome Home Hero

My second card was created for the latest Cards In Envy and The Paper Players challenges. I created this card by layering some pretty patriotic patterned papers from the American Crafts Americana 6x6 paper pad onto my white card base. I then die cut a scalloped circle and a smaller circle out of some more of the patterned paper to ground my focal image. I stamped the sentiment from the Paper Smooches Circle Of Honor stamp set onto some white card stock and die cut it using an MFT circle die. I die cut another larger circle out of more of the coordinating patterned paper and mounted it under the focal panel. I added black dashed lines around both panels. I then stamped the VW Beetle from Unity Stamp Company's Love Bug stamp set onto some white cardstock and fussy cut the image, edging it with a Memento dual tip marker. I then stamped the image again onto more of the patterned paper from the paper pad and fussy cut it out, edging it as well. I adhered it to the white cardstock to make it stable enough to popped up using Stampin' UP foam dimensionals. I then fussy cut a small license plate from the patterned paper tag and adhered it to the Beetle using foam dimensionals for a final touch. Happy Fall

My second card today was created for both Cards In Envy and The Challenge challenges. I will also be donating this card to the Send A Smile 4 Kids card donation program. Yes Sybrina, I have cards coming your way this week! I started my card by layering some chocolate chip cardstock from Stampin' UP onto my white cardbase. I then layered some pretty, glittery paper Autumn Splendor patterned 12x12 paper from Best Creation onto my card. The photo doesn't do this adorable paper justice. It really sparkles and shines and the best part is it's permanent, which is perfect for donating cards to children in hospitals because it won't flake off and become airborne. Anyway, I did some masking and stamping using the adorable images from My Favorite Things Harvest Mouse stamp set and die cut the image using a pierced edge circle die, also from My Favorite Things. I colored the adorable image using Copic markers and added some pretty clear Wink of Stella to help mimic the glitter of the paper. Using Hero Arts Layering Tree stamp set I stamped the sentiment above the scene using Gina K charcoal brown ink. I cut a small strip of the same chocolate chip cardstock and added it to the card and then adhered the focal die directly on top. I love how sweet this little card turned out! I have to apologize for the poor quality of my photo. I usually use my smart phone but it died on me yesterday and I'm using my tablet. Unfortunately, the photo quality is not quite as good. I will be fixing that this week so bear with me. 

Butterfly Happy Birthday

My second card today was created for the latest Cards In Envy challenge. I started with a white card base and layered on darker and lighter shades of turquoise cardstock from Hobby Lobby. I then layered on a piece of white cardstock from Staples. Using a 1" and a 1 1/4" EK Success punch I punched the squares of cardstock and adhered them onto the focal panel of the card. I then punched the butterflies using a Martha Stewart punch and some pretty patterned paper from the KI Color Crush 6x6 paper pad. I adhered the butterflies onto the squares using some glue dots and added some clear rhinestones from Recollections. I stamped the sentiment from the Papertrey Ink Fillable Frames stamp set using Stampin' UP's tempting turquoise ink. As a finishing touch I added a few smaller clear rhinestones from Recollections to add some interest to the sentiment and to match the butterflies. I hope you like it!
