Happy Birthday

 

Today's card was created for the latest Color Throwdown challenge.To create my card, I started by stamping a few of the adorable cactus images from Pawsome Stamps Prickly Friend stamp set onto some white Copic-friendly cardstock and colored them using my alcohol markers. I fussy cut them out and set them aside to work on the background. I layered a piece of bright yellow patterned paper from Simple Stories Sunkissed paper pad onto my card base. Using a scalloped edge rectangle die from Gina Marie Designs I cut a smaller white focal panel. I inked it with a bit of squeezed lemonade and mowed lawn distress ink from Tim Holtz, and then attached my cactus images. I stamped the sentiment from the same Pawsome Stamps set using Gina K Designs black ink. I popped the focal panel up off of the card using 3M foam tape and added a few green gems from Honey Bee Stamps around the images and sentiment for a little additional interest. Zombie Coffee Card

Today's card was created for the latest Cards In Envy card challenge. The challenge is to create a "spooky" card. I can't think of anything spookier or scarier than someone jonesing for their caffeine fix! This is pretty  much me every single morning after my 5 am run...LOL. To create this fun card I started with a base of basic black cardstock by Stampin' UP and layered on a piece of patterned blue paper from the 7 Gypsies Venice 6x6 paper pad on top that I had inked around the edges with black soot distress ink by Tim Holtz. I die cut a circle of more patterned paper from the same paper pad, inked the edges, and adhered it to the card in the upper left hand corner. I stamped the zombie from the Sugar Pea Designs Undying Love stamp set onto some Copic-friendly white cardstock and colored him using my alcohol markers. I die cut the image into a focal panel using a stitched edge rectangle die from Gina Marie Designs. I popped him up off of the card using some 3M foam tape. To create the sentiment I used several different stamp sets...Sugar Pea Designs Undying Love, Honey Bee Stamps Blah, Blah, Blah, Verve Stamps Coffee, and Sweet Stamp Shops Zombies. I die cut the sentiment using a smaller stitched edge rectangle die by Gina Marie Designs and popped it up onto the card. To finish my card off I added some Glossy Accents to the zombie's eyes and added some 6mm black sequins from Pretty Pink Posh around the card for some balance and interest. I Can't Even! Need Coffee Now!

Today's card was created for the latest AAA Cards Challenge. To create my card I started by stamping the coffee pot and cups from the Your Next Stamp's Perk Up stamp set onto some Copic-friendly cardstock. I colored them in rainbow order using my alcohol markers. I layered a small piece of patterned paper from the Crate Paper Story Teller 6x6 paper pad onto the bottom of the panel to make it look like a table. I stamped the sentiment at the top of the panel using Versafine onyx black ink and stamps from Honey Bee Stamps Blah Blah Blah stamp set. I then popped the entire panel up off of the card using some inexpensive fun foam from Hobby Lobby and this clean and simple card was done. I hope you like it! Life Happens Coffee Helps...Coffee And Cards With Celeste And Deb

Hello and happy Sunday! Deb and I have another Coffee And Cards collaboration. This month we chose to highlight our favorite stamps. I will admit that I don't have a particular favorite stamp per say, but I do have a favorite stamp company that I tend to grab for over and over again and that is Unity Stamp Company. I'm particularly fond of the Angie Girl collection and they are almost always my go to stamps. I love alcohol coloring and, while I'm still trying to hone my skills, I think I'm getting much better at shading and adding highlights to my colored images. So, here I am using yet another Unity Stamp Angie girl...LOL. This card is actually a collection of many different stamps but I had so much fun putting it together and love how beautifully it turned out. To create my card I started by layering some patterned papers from the American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan 6x6 paper pad onto my white card base. I then took a small white doily that I picked up at my local Hobby Lobby in the cake decorating aisle and glued it to my card base. I then stamped the sentiment from the Honey Bee Stamps Blah Blah Blah stamp set directly onto the doily using Versafine onyx black ink for a crisp look. I then stamped the bookshelf image from the SugarPea Read Between The Lines stamp set, the coffee cups from the Unity Stamp Company's Coffee Side By Side stamp set, and the beautiful Unity Stamp Company's Planner Glad Don't Be Perfect girl onto some Copic-friendly cardstock using Memento tuxedo black ink. I colored each of the images in using my alcohol markers to match the patterned papers. I fussy cut the images out and popped them up off of the card using Stampin' UP foam dimensionals. And then as I was assembling the card I managed to smudge a bit of ink on the neck of the girl (grrrrrr!) and didn't want to re-stamp and re-color it so I hand drew a necklace using a black gelly roll pen and added a small clear rhinestone from Recollections over the smudge. To finish my card off I added some gorgeous shimmer to her shirt, the flowers, and the coffee images using my Spectrum Noir shimmer pen. I plan on entering this card into the latest Addicted To Stamps And More card challenge. 

For my coffee choice this month I opted for a nice, warm, foamy cup of Dunkaccino from Dunkin Donuts. It's still cold and rainy here in SE Missouri and it was perfect after my morning run! Creative Fuel-Coffee And Cards With Celeste And Deb

Hello and welcome to another installment of Coffee And Cards With Celeste and Deb! We have another exciting guest designer with us this month, the very talented Renee Moran. This month's post also corresponds with the current Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop! 

To create my card I started with a clean white card base. I layered on some pretty patterned papers from the Pink Paislee Hey Kid 6x6 paper pad. I die cut a fun curved scalloped border from Simon Says Stamp to help break up the patterns. I stamped the mug from the Reverse Confetti Just Brew It stamp set onto some white cardstock using Stampin' Up's Tangerine Tango ink and die cut the image using the coordinating die. I popped the image up using some 3M foam tape onto the die cut oval focal panel I created with some My Favorite Things oval dies. I stamped the sentiment from the Honey Bee Blah Blah Blah stamp set using Versafine onyx black ink for a nice crisp look. To finish my card I added a few orange enamel dots from the Simple Stories Life Documented collection. I hope you like it!

As for my coffee choice I opted for a nice cup of Dunkin' Donuts toasted almond latte! And yes, it's as tasty as it sounds!

Blah Blah Blah-Send A Smile 4 Kids

It's been a while since I created a card for the Send A Smile 4 Kids Challenge so I decided to jump in and participate. It's been a while since I sent a box of cards to my crafty friend Sybrina and thought it was time to remedy that. I kept this card pretty simple. The challenge is to create something bright and colorful and it doesn't get any brighter or more colorful than neon colors. I took a panel of plain white cardstock and swiped the Hero Arts neon inks in blue, green, pink, and orange directly across the paper in big swiping motions. I went over them several times to get good coverage and saturation of ink. Once the colors dried I stamped the sentiment from the new Honey Bee Blah Blah Blah stamp set. I usually focus my cards that I donate to this cause to younger children but I thought it would be fun to create a teen card. Anyone who has ever had a teenager knows how snarky and sarcastic they can be so when I saw this stamp set I knew it would be perfect for a fun and snarky sentiment. I added some black dashed lines around the outer edge of the card using my Memento dual tip black marker for some visual interest and then popped the whole panel up off of the card front using some 3M foam tape.
