Happy Birthday-Coffee And Cards With Celeste And Deb

 

Hello and welcome to the February Coffee and Cards with Celeste and Deb! In honor of Valentine's Day Deb and I decided to use this sweet cookie image as our inspiration. Since I've already created my Valentine's cards for the month I decided to incorporate some sweet hearts into a birthday card. To create my card I started by layering a panel of early espresso cardstock from Stampin' UP onto my ivory A2 card base. I then die cut a slightly smaller panel using a Pinkfresh Studio A2 layering die and then stamped the background image using some Sahara sand ink by Stampin' UP and the Unity Stamp Company Small Details background stamp. Then using a Lawn Fawn heart die I die cut the hearts on the panel. I backed each of the hearts with some pretty pink patterned papers from the My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Market Street 6x6 paper pad. Using my powder tool I prepared some more of the early espresso cardstock, stamped the birthday sentiment from the Verve Stamp Birthday Poppy stamp set using Versamark ink and then heat embossed it using some Ranger white detail embossing powder. I cut it down into a small  sentiment strip and adhered it to the heart panel using some 3M foam tape. I then attached some soft pink/white twine from Doodlebug around the bottom of the panel and then popped the whole thing up off of the card base. To finish my card off I added a little bow using more the twine and secured it with a glue dot. I love how beautifully this turned out! 

For my coffee this month I opted for some 6th Avenue Bistro from Seattle's Best Coffee in a new ceramic mug I received from my bestie this Christmas. Monogrammed Cards

Okay, not a great photo but I had no other way to share all six cards at one time in my tiny little photo cube. A friend of mine is having a birthday this coming Monday and I wanted to create something special for her. To create these cards I started by layering some early espresso cardstock from Stampin' UP that I had die cut using Pink & Main A2 rectangle dies and adhered the panels directly to my cream A2 card bases. I took more cream cardstock and stamped them with Stampin' UP's sahara sand ink using Unity Stamp Company's Small Details background stamp. I cut the panel using a small Pink & Main A2 rectangle die. I then matted panels of pattered paper from the My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Market Street 6x6 paper pad onto more early espresso cardstock and adhered them to the card panel. Using a small Jillian Vance Designs fish tail banner die I cut out some fun fish tails for the tops of the cards, which I die cut using more early espresso cardstock. I then stamped the pretty wreaths from the Maggie Holmes Hello Love mini stamp set using Gina K Designs charcoal brown ink. My friend's name is Michelle so I stamped the capital M from The Paper Studios Timeless Alphas stamp set using Gina K Designs innocent pink ink. I die cut the circles out using a Spellbinders circle die and then matted them using early espresso and a larger circle die from My Favorite Things. I finished these pretty cards off with some small and medium clear rhinestones from Recollections. Love how these turned out. I hope Michelle likes them!

 

Have A Happy Sunny Bunny Day-SAS4Kids

 

Hello, happy February! This month at Send A Smile 4 Kids we are creating spring/Easter cards for kids. I wanted to create a fun card that would work for either a boy or a girl. I cracked out my Darcie's Heart & Home Feathers and Fur stamp set and stamped the adorable bear, bunny, and chick images onto some white Copic-friendly cardstock. I colored them using my alcohol markers and then stamped their "hands" separately, colored them, and fussy cut them out. Using patterned paper from the Doodlebug Springtime 6x6 paper pad I layered a green base onto my A2 white card base and then created a panel using the colored images and more of the patterned paper and die cut it using a stitched edge rectangle die from Gina Marie Designs. I popped it up off of the card using some 3M foam tape for some fun dimension. I added a small fishtailed banner at the lower left side of the card. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set using Memento tuxedo black ink and then die cut it using a pierced edge circle die from My Favorite Things and then added it some of the same patterned paper I used in the background using a slightly larger Spellbinders circled die. The sentiment also got popped up for a bit more dimension. To finish this fun card off I added some white gel pen details to the critters and then added some light green enamel dots from Snap at the corners. I love this adorable card and can't wait to see what the rest of the team created for this month's challenge!

Hello and happy Sunday! Deb and I decided that we would create fun birthday cards this month. They are the cards I give most and I never seem to have enough on hand. So, I decided to go ahead and get a jump start on my stash by creating two cards using the same layout. The first card was created using patterned papers from the Jen Hadfield DIY Home 6x6 paper pad and the second card I used papers from the Authentique Essential Collection 6x6 paper pad. Both cards have dark gray cardstock from Stampin' UP. On both cards I used the Close To My Heart You Mean The World To Me stamp set and versafine smokey gray ink. I colored white pearls from Recollections using my gray Copic markers and used them to embellish the cards. I love this layout because it lets me showcase my love of layers and patterned papers. And now I have two cards to put in my stash for the start of the year. 

It was cold, windy, and spitting snow this morning so I opted for a nice warm Starbucks pistachio latte. It was so very tasty and hit the spot on my belly after my workout! Now, be sure to head over to Deb's blog and see what fun she created for us this month!

Hello and happy Sunday! It's cold and dreary here in Southeast Missouri, so the perfect day to stay inside and get crafty. My card today was created for the latest Less Is More card challenge. To create my card I started by layering some beautiful pink patterned paper that I've had in my stash for years onto my white A2 card base. I cannot even recall who made the paper but I know the name of the collection is Amore.  Next I stamped one of the purses from Skipping Stones Design Birthday Purses stamp set onto some white Copic-friendly cardstock. I colored the image using my alcohol markers, fussy cut it, and went around the edges with my dual tip Memento tuxedo black marker for a nice crisp look. I die cut a focal panel using a stitched edge rectangle die from Gina Marie Designs and stamped the sentiment from the same Skipping Stones Design stamp set using Versafine onyx black ink. I popped the purse image up using some 3M foam tape and adhered it to the focal panel above the sentiment. I kept this card pretty simple so I finished it off my added some clear rhinestones from Paper Recollections in the four corners and on the clasp of the purse. Holiday Hello

 

Hello and happy Sunday! Hopefully everyone is recovering from Christmas and New Year's. Today's card was created for the latest 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge. I fell in love with the sketch as soon as I saw it. I have tons of patterned paper and it was not only an excuse to break out some of the fun papers I've been hoarding but to color up a fun new digital image I purchased on Etsy. To create my card I started by layering some real red cardstock from Stampin' UP onto my white A2 card base. I then layered a piece of patterned paper from the My Mind's Eye Be Merry 6x6 paper pad on top. Using the bottom portion of that paper that I trimmed down I flipped it over and adhered it to more red cardstock and adhered that to the left of my panel. I colored the adorable penguin image I purchased on Etsy using my Copic markers and die cut the image using a pierced edge oval die from My Favorite things. I die cut another oval using more real red cardstock and a Spellbinders die. I adhered the red oval directly to the card panel and then popped the focal panel up using foam tape. I then stamped the sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Holiday Hello mini stamp set using Gina K Designs red hot ink and adhered that to more real red cardstock and trimmed it out into a little panel that I popped up to the lower right of the focal panel. I added a few snowflakes to the penguin image using Gina K Designs ocean mist ink and a stamp from the Papertrey Ink Winter Snow Globe stamp set. Thank you for stopping by my blog!

I Think You're Pretty Grate-Send A Smile 4 Kids

 

Hello and happy new year! I'm sure I'm not alone in breathing a sigh of relief that 2020 is past us. I'm very excited about what the new year will bring for us all. I am especially excited about being asked to join the very talented design team at Send A Smile 4 Kids! Our theme this month is Love/Valentine cards. To create my card I started by printing the digital stamp You're Pretty Grate by Power Poppy onto some white Copic-friendly cardstock. I colored the image using my alcohol markers and did some highlights on the image using my white jelly roll pen. I then die cut the image using a pierced edge tag die from My Favorite Things. I added to the bottom of the tag some pretty patterned paper from the Crate Paper Main Squeeze 6x6 paper pad and a strip of Real Red cardstock from Stampin' UP to break up the papers. I added some inexpensive red and white ribbon I picked up at the dollar spot last year at Target to the top of the tag and tied it off with some pink and white baker's twine from American Crafts. I layered some more of the Crate Paper patterned paper onto some red cardstock and adhered them to my white A2 card base. I popped the tag up off of the card using some 3M foam tape and finished the card off with some cute little die cut hearts using more of the Real Red cardstock. Love how adorably cute this turned out! I can't wait to see what fun and creative creations everyone is going to post!

Warm Wishes-Coffee And Cards With Celeste And Deb

 

Hello and welcome to the year end collaboration of Coffee and Cards with Celeste and Deb. I cannot believe we are a week away from Christmas. This year has gone by so quickly and, if most of you feel the same way about 2020 as I do, that is a good thing. Deb and I decided to use a mood board this month as our inspiration for our cards. I love the blues and browns in this board and wanted to play off of that. To create my card I started by layering some early espresso cardstock from Stampin' UP onto my white A2 card base. I then layered some pretty blue and white patterned paper from the We R Memory Keepers Silver & Gold 6x6 paper pad on top. I cut another band of brown and white paper from the same pad and centered it on the card. I stamped the Warm Wishes stamp from Neat and Tangled onto some white cardstock using Versamark clear ink and embossed it using Ranger's liquid platinum embossing powder. I stamped the mug again onto some blue patterned paper from the paper pad and fussy cut it out. I adhered it to the focal image and then die cut it using a circle die from Spellbinders. I then cut a slightly larger circle using a pierced edge circle die from My Favorite Things and some more early espresso cardstock from Stampin' UP. To finish my card I popped the focal panel up off of the card using 3M foam tape and finished the card off by adding some light blue enamel dots from Hobby Lobby. 

My coffee choice this month was a nice warm cup of Peppermint Mocha latte from Starbucks. It was perfect thing to warm me up during my Christmas shopping today in our misty, cold Southeast Missouri weather. Be sure to pop over to Deb's site and see what she created using our mood board. Today's card was created for the latest Sunday Stamps card challenge. To create my card I started by layering a piece of kraft cardstock from Hobby Lobby onto my A2 white card base. I then die cut a stitched rectangle panel out of white cardstock from Staples using a Gina Marie Designs die. Using patterned papers from the My Mind's Eye 6x6 Signature Christmas paper pad I cut 3/4" strips in various lengths to create the branches of my tree. I adhered each piece using snail adhesive. The trunk of the tree is a piece of early espresso cardstock from Stampin' UP cut down to a 3/4" by 3/4" square and the star is more of the patterned paper cut out using a simple star die I picked up at Hobby Lobby. I stamped the sentiment from the Amy R Big Christmas Wishes stamp set using Gina K Designs charcoal brown ink. I love how primitive and simple this card is. Today's card was created for the Cardz 4 Galz, Send A Smile 4 Kids, and Freshly Made Sketches card challenges. To create my card I started by stamping the adorable little snowman from the Inkadinkado Christmas Characters stamp set onto some white Copic-friendly cardstock, coloring it with my alcohol markers, and cutting it down with a Spellbinders circle die. I die cut a larger circle to frame it using a pierced edge circle die from My Favorite Things and some early espresso cardstock from Stampin' UP. I die cut a square of patterned paper from the Simple Stories Cozy Christmas 6x6 paper pad and matted it with some early espresso cardstock from Stampin' UP. I stamped the sentiment from the same Inkadinkado stamp set using Versamark clear ink and more early espresso cardstock and heat embossed it using white embossing powder from Ranger. To finish my card off I stamped a few of the snowflakes from the stamp set randomly around the white A2 card base using Stampin' UP's sahara sand ink. Love how adorably this turned out!
