Hello Spring

Today's card was created for the latest Time Out Challenge. To create my card I started by die cutting a panel out of patterned paper from the Doodlebug Design Springtime 6x6 paper pad using a funky edge rectangle die from Gina Marie Designs. I popped the panel up off the card using some inexpensive fun foam I picked up at Hobby Lobby. I stamped the floral background onto some Copic-friendly cardstock using the Inkadinkado Garden Life stamp set and colored it using my alcohol markers. I die cut it down to a circle panel using a x-edge circle die from Gina Marie Designs and then matted it onto a piece of patterned paper from the same paper pad that I had cut down into a large scalloped circle using a die from Spellbinders. I stamped the butterfly from the same stamp set, colored it with my alcohol markers, fussy cut it out, and popped it up off of the circle panel using some foam dimensionals from Scrapbook Adhesives. I then stamped the girl image from the C.C. Designs Rainy Day Emma stamp set onto some Copic-friendly cardstock. I stamped the image again several times onto more of the patterned paper from the same paper pad and fussy cut them out and glued them onto the colored image. I fussy cut the entire image and edged it with my dual tip Memento tuxedo black marker. I popped her up off of the card using more foam dimensionals. I then stamped the sentiment from the Studio Calico stamp set onto some white cardstock and cut it down into a small sentiment strip and mounted it directly to the bottom of the focal panel. To complete my card I added some clear sequins in 6mm and 4mm from Pretty Pink Posh and then added some shimmer to the butterfly, flowers, and the girl's outfit using my Spectrum Noir clear glitter pen. Ho Ho Ho

Today's card was created for the latest Jingle Belles card challenge. The challenge is to create something with Santa Claus on it. I created my card by layering some fun, festive patterned papers from the Doodle Bug Home For The Holidays 6x6 paper pad onto my white card base. I added a small strip of green cardstock from the American Crafts Christmas cardstock 6x6 paper pad to the edge just to break up the patterned paper. I stamped the adorable little Santa onto some Copic friendly cardstock and colored him using my alcohol markers. I die cut him out using an x-edge die by Gina Marie Designs. I die cut another of the same panels using the green cardstock. I layered them together and stamped the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Gnome For The Holidays at the bottom. I popped the focal panel up off of the card using Stampin' UP foam dimensionals and added some Nuvo Crystal Drops in rhubarb crumble for some fun interest. I finished the card by adding a fun dotted border that I die cut using more of the green cardstock and a fun little Papertrey Ink die. I hope you like it!

Happy Easter

I typically don't create a lot of Easter cards but I do always send one to my little granddaughter and wanted to get started on hers now. I started with a white card base and layered on a piece of patterned paper from Doodlbug Design Springtime 6x6 paper pack. Love their bright and whimsical patterns! I then die cut a white card panel using a stitched rectangle die from Gina Marie Designs and die cut the grass using the same stitched rectangle for the bottom and a Paper Smooches die for the top and layered it onto my white panel. I stamped the adorable egg and chick images from The Alley Way Stamps Spring Has Sprung stamp set onto more of the Doodlebug patterned paper and the cloud from the Paper Smooches Spiffy Scooter stamp set onto some white cardstock. I fussy cut them out and edged them with my dual-tipped tuxedo black Memento marker to give them a nice clean edge. I stamped the sentiment onto some white cardstock and then die cut it out using the bottom edge of a tag from Paper Smooches and the Gina Marie Designs rectangle die. I did the same thing on more of the patterned paper to layer underneath the tag. I popped all of the adorable images up using Stampin' UP foam dimensionals and mounted them all onto the card. A scattered a few clear sequins in 6 mm and 4 mm from Pretty Pink Posh around the images and called this card done. I know Journey will love it...I hope you do too!

Hope Your Birthday's Epic

My third card today was created for the Less Is More masculine card challenge. I started with a digital stamp that I purchased online from an Etsy shop. I love this stamp because there are so many fun things you can do with it and since it's digital you can alter the size to fit any card need! I kept the coloring simple on the controller and just used a few primary Copic colors and a few greys to darken the knobs. I mounted the controller directly onto some distressed blue paper that I picked up from Hobby Lobby and added an orange postage stamp edge border to the top and bottom. Using the same orange cardstock I trimmed out the sentiment using a fishtail banner that I created using my scissors. I mounted the whole panel onto so dark navy cardstock and layered it all onto my kraft cardstock card base. I adhered a bit of Doodlebug black and white bakers twine using some Glossy Accents and this card was done. So stinking cute, right? 

Boo

This morning's card was actually created for a friend's Halloween party and I thought it would be perfect for the AAA Cards challenge. I kept it pretty basic and started with some black cardstock from Stampin' UP, cut my ghost from plain white cardstock using the Lil' Inkers border ghost die and layered it onto the base trimming off any excess. The sentiment from MSE Halloween Innies & Outies was stamped using Versafine onyx black in and heat embossed using clear embossing powder from Zing. I added some Doodlebug twine and a few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and this card was done!

Happy Birthday

My second card today was created for the Just Us Girls and the Blog Named Hero challenges. I started with a white card base and layered on some pretty striped paper from the Doodlebug Happy Harvest 6x6 paper pad. Using some white cardstock I die cut the He Said, She Said speech bubble die from The Cat's Pajamas. Using a small stitched border die I impressed the stitched border around the outer edges of that speech bubble so it would match the stitching on the bottom of the panel. I then die cut the Birthday Balloons dies using the same Doodlebug paper and them popped them up using some Stampin' UP foam dimensionals. Using some Ranger Multi Medium Matte I adhered small pieces of orange and white Doodlebug bakers twine and then tied a bow at the bottom. I stamped the sock monkey, hat, and cupcake using The Cat's Pajamas Show Me The Monkey stamp set and colored them in using Copic markers. I fussy cut the images out and mounted them onto the card using some more foam dimensionals. The word Happy is from the Stamps of Life Large Greetings Stamp set and I colored it in using an orange Memento dual tip marker. I added a bit of clear Wink of Stella to the images for a bit of extra glimmer. I hope you like it! 

A Sweet Life

Today's card was created for the Retro Sketches #180 sketch challenge. I had so many ideas for this card but ultimately I knew I wanted to use these adorable wood veneer butterflies from American Crafts. I used some VersaMagic chalk ink in pink grapefruit to lightly ink the edges and then added some pink Stickles by Ranger over it to add a bit of pretty glitter and shine. I wrapped a bit of Doodlebug black and white bakers twine around them to create their bodies and antenna's. I decided to try and create a card without any stamping so I took one of the sentiment tags from the GCD Splendor 8x8 paper pack and fussy cut it and mounted it onto some Stampin' UP and fussy cut that too to mimic the shape of the sentiment tag. I took a scrap of pretty floral patterned paper from the same paper pack and bordered it top and bottom with small strips of the same black cardstock. I cut a white doily that I found at Hobby Lobby in the bakery department, cut it in half, and adhered it to the bottom of my strip of patterned paper. I mounted all of that onto an American Crafts A2 kraft card base, popped the butterflies up using some foam dimensionals from Stampin' UP and a few black sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. To add a bit more glitter to the card I added some more of that gorgeous pink Stickles to the sentiment. I hope you like it!

You're Invited

Today's card was created for the Freshly Made Sketches #202 card challenge. I started with a pretty sunflower yellow cardstock from Hobby Lobby and layered a piece of white cardstock over it that I had embossed using a Darice woodgrain embossing folder. I took a piece of crumbcake cardstock from Stampin' UP and stamped the linen background stamp from MFT using the same colored ink. I die cut a fishtail banner using a die from Jillian Vance Designs. I die cut some leaves from the sunflower cardstock and some adorable fall patterned paper from the Doodlebug Happy Harvest 6x6 paper collection using an EK Success leaf punch. I layered it up with some paper buttons from MFT dies and then topped it off with some brown bakers twine from Pretty Pink Posh. Using a piece of wood grain paper from the same Doodlebug paper pad I die cut a smaller fishtail banner and heat embossed the sentiment in white using some Recollections detail powder. Love how nicely it turned out. Perfect for a fall dinner party!

Hip To Be Square!

I created two cards today for the Paper Players Theme Challenge. The challenge was to create a square card. Now, I will admit that I'm a penny pincher so I don't typically do square cards because the postage is higher to mail square envelopes but I thought it might be fun to create just a few to hand deliver to friends and family. For my first card I used the adorable stamp set Stoked from the new The Cat's Pajamas release. I layered this adorable image up onto some canary yellow and ocean blue cardstock and then stamped my images onto some of the leftover yellow to create both a cute little fishtail banner and a sentiment strip. I topped it off with some die cut buttons and some yellow twine. I love how adorable this little guy is with his lei and his surf shorts! 

For my second card I wanted to something a bit more gender neutral so I started with some red cardstock and embossed a piece of white using the same embossing folder that I used on the first card. I then cut a few pieces of patterned paper from a Doodlebug 6x6 pad and cut them longways down the center to create some pinwheel pieces. I rounded the corners using my We R Memory Keepers corner chomper and then mounted them using foam tape and arranged them onto the cardstock. I added a cute little red star button and some white twine and a few red sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. I decided to skip adding a sentiment on the front panel and thought I would save that for the inside of the card. Hope you like them both!

The Cat's Pajamas Summer Blog Hop

Hello and thank you for joining me! You should have arrived here from Lori's blog. If you feel you've missed anything along the way you can always start back at the beginning at The Cat's Pajama's Blog.  Okay, are you ready to hop? I have to admit, I got a bit carried away and made several cards using the fun new products available now in TCP store. For my first card, I stamped the Seas The Birthday stamp set onto some watercolor cardstock using black pigment ink and then embossed the images using clear embossing powder. I colored the adorable images using watercolor paints and then created the background using distress inks and a smooshing technique. I heat set everything using a heat tool and then added some white droplets using distress stain in white. I added some shimmer to the whole project by spritzing on some sheer shimmer spray. I stamped, embossed, and fussy cut the party hats and then popped them up using foam dimensionals and mounted them over the sea critters and then added some small googly eyes for some added fun. I went around the outer edge of the cardstock with some dashed lines using a white gel pen. I love this adorable birthday card and may have to mass produce it!

For my next card I used The Lemons stamp set. I stamped the adorable bunny and lemonade stand out onto some 110 lb cardstock and colored the images using Copic markers.  I fussy cut everything out and edged all of the images using a black Copic-friendly marker. Using some Doodlebug patterned papers I die-cut the new County Fair Cut Ups to create the sun, the grass, and the little banner behind the bunny. I used chalk ink to create the sky on the circle panel and then added a few panels and a fish tail banner behind to add some interest. Some enamel dots top it all off nicely and create the most adorable and fun summer card!

For my next card I used the Simply Stacked Sentiment stamp set to create a clean and simple sympathy card. I created a few fish tail banners using patterned papers from Chickaniddy. I stamped the sentiment onto a basic oval shape that I die cut using a Spellbinders die and then stamped a bit of flair from the same stamp set to accentuate the sentiment. I added a punched butterfly, a few black sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and a few clear rhinestones and this card was done. Love how quick and simple it was to create!
