Love Brings Us Home-A Coffee And Cards Collaboration With Celeste And Deb

Hello, and welcome to another coffee and cards collaboration with Celeste and Deb! We have another guest designer with us this month; the crafty and talented Jennifer Scull of Just Coffee Please...& Stamp, & Ribbons, & Paper. I just love the name of her blog! Our theme this month is "Geek It For The World. " I think Deb and Jennifer were gearing their cards toward science and earth theme but I just wanted to do something with the earth on it in honor of Earth Day, which was yesterday. My crafty friend Becky is a member of the Unity Stamp Company's kit of the month club and she lent me her kit from February to play with for a few weeks. The kit, Unexpected Places, has this beautiful globe and sentiment in it and I just couldn't resist cracking it out and inking it up! I created my card by inking the stamp up onto some Copic-friendly cardstock and cutting it down into a smaller panel using a stitched rectangle die by Gina Marie Designs. I layered a pretty piece of blue ombre polka dot paper from the Jen Hadfield Home+Made 6x6 paper pad onto my card base. I colored the image in using my alcohol markers and popped the focal panel up off of the card using some 3M foam tape. I went over the land portion of the globe and the sentiment with my Sakura clear jelly roll pen for some pretty shimmer.  A few black sequins from Pretty Pink Posh completed this pretty card.

As for my beverage this week, I opted for a nice hot mug of Bigelow's Vanilla Chai black tea. I am training for a City to City run coming up next month and ran 8.5 miles this morning in the rain and mud and I just can't seem to get warmed up. I thought tea would help hit the spot on a cold, rainy day and it did.
Anyway, thank you for visiting my blog. Be sure to pop on over to Deb and Jen's blogs and show them some love by leaving a comment!

Happy Easter

Today's card was created for the latest The Paper Players and Addicted To Stamps And More challenges. I started by stamping the adorable bunny from the Unity Stamp Company's January Kit of the Month {When You Smile}onto some Copic-friendly cardstock. I created a mask for the image and then stamped the background by using Tim Holtz distress ink in picked raspberry and the Hero Arts Leaf & Floral background stamp. I removed the mask and colored the bunny in using my Copic alcohol markers. I added some pink ice Stickles the flowers and a few small clear rhinestones from Recollections for some additional sparkle. Using an ink pad direct to paper technique I created a small mat to frame out my focal panel that I adhered down to the white card base. I stamped the sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Happy Everything stamp set onto a strip of white cardstock and adhered it to the card panel. I added a few larger clear rhinestones from Recollections as a final touch for this adorably cute Easter card.  I hope you like it!

Properly Caffeinated

Today's card was created for the Spring Coffee Lovers Bloghop. To create my card I started by layering a strip of some pretty springtime plaid patterned paper from Chickannidy Crafts Date Night 6x6 paper pad onto my white card base. I then added a small strip of silver glitter washi tape from the American Crafts Make It Happen washi tape pack just to the inside of the strip for some additional interest. I stamped the coffee mug from Skipping Stones Designs onto the card base and did some fun paper piecing from the same paper pad. I then stamped the coffee beans from the Fiskars Latte Love next to the mug and colored them in using Copic markers. I also added some shading and depth to the mug using my Copics. I die cut a heart out of the same patterned paper using a cute little Paper Smooches heart die and popped it up off of the mug using some Stampin' UP foam dimensionals. I added a bit of shimmer to the heart by covering it with some Nuvo Glitter Drops in white blizzard. To finish off the card I stamped the sentiment from Latina Crafter's Need Caffeine mini stamp set using Versafine onyx black ink, added some drops of Nuvo Crystal Drops in dark walnut, and rounded the outer corners of the card using my We R Memory Keepers corner chomper. I love this sweet springtime coffee card! If you like it please leave a comment!

Send A Smile 4 Kids...Future DJ

Hello, and thank you for visiting my blog. I am guest designing over at the Send A Smile 4 Kids blog today with a fun little digital monkey stamp from All Dressed Up Stamps. I created my card by coloring in the adorable little digital stamp using my Copic alcohol markers and die cutting it using an X edge circle die by Gina Marie Designs. I then layered some awesome masculine patterned papers from Studio Calico's Here & There 6x6 paper pad onto my white card base. I used a fun sketch layout that I had been featured on last week's Mojo Monday blog. I popped the image up off of the card using some Stampin' UP foam dimensionals and called this card done. Pretty quick and simple. If you like this card be sure to leave a comment. I read and appreciate them all.  Happy Sunday!

Celebrate Your Day

Hello, and welcome to another installment of Coffee and Cards with Celeste and Deb. This month's guest designer is Liz McGuire. She creates the most adorable and fun cards and her coloring skills are amazing! Deb and I couldn't be more pleased to have her aboard this month. Liz created our color challenge this month. I love it...it's so pretty and just screams springtime! To create my card I started by layering on some light grey cardstock from Hobby Lobby onto my white card base. I then layered a smaller panel of very pale yellow cardstock from Hobby Lobby onto the card. I cut down a piece of yellow and cream cardstock from the American Crafts Polka Dot Party 6x6 paper pad that I had cut at an angle on top. I stamped the pretty flowers and leaves from the Verve Stamps Poppy Birthday stamp set onto some Copic-friendly cardstock and die cut the images using the coordinating dies. I colored them in using colors from the challenge and then poppped them up off of the card using Stampin' UP foam dimensionals. I added a few decorative dots from the same stamp set around the flowers for some additional interest.

As for my beverage of choice this month, I am writing this blog post later in the evening and I don't usually do coffee this late. So, I opted for an adorable monkey love mug full of Stash orange spice black tea with a touch of cinnamon in it. The perfect end to a long, cold weekend day!
Be sure to pop on over to Deb's and Liz's sites and show them some blogging love by leaving a comment!

Welcome Home Hero

My second card was created for the latest Cards In Envy and The Paper Players challenges. I created this card by layering some pretty patriotic patterned papers from the American Crafts Americana 6x6 paper pad onto my white card base. I then die cut a scalloped circle and a smaller circle out of some more of the patterned paper to ground my focal image. I stamped the sentiment from the Paper Smooches Circle Of Honor stamp set onto some white card stock and die cut it using an MFT circle die. I die cut another larger circle out of more of the coordinating patterned paper and mounted it under the focal panel. I added black dashed lines around both panels. I then stamped the VW Beetle from Unity Stamp Company's Love Bug stamp set onto some white cardstock and fussy cut the image, edging it with a Memento dual tip marker. I then stamped the image again onto more of the patterned paper from the paper pad and fussy cut it out, edging it as well. I adhered it to the white cardstock to make it stable enough to popped up using Stampin' UP foam dimensionals. I then fussy cut a small license plate from the patterned paper tag and adhered it to the Beetle using foam dimensionals for a final touch. I hope you like my card and thank you for visiting my blog!

Scooting By To Say Hi

Today's card was created for the latest Freshly Made Sketches challenge. This fun card was created by layering some pumpkin colored cardstock from Hobby Lobby onto a white card base. I then die cut the focal panel using some yellow cardstock from Hobby Lobby and embossed it using a fun graphic embossing folder from Lifestyle Crafts. I adhered a small strip of vellum at the bottom to add a bit of interest and added some black dashed lines. I then stamped the scooter from The Paper Smooches Spiffy Scooters onto some white cardstock and fussy cut it out. I stamped the same image again and fussy cut them panels out to adhere to the base layer. I adhered all of the pieces together and popped the image up off of the card using some Stampin' UP foam dimensionals. I stamped the flower from the same stamp set and colored it to coordinate with the papers and adhered it to the scooter using more foam dimesionals. I punched the cloud using an EK Success punch and added some black dashed lines around the outer edges and popped it up using foam dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment onto a white strip of cardstock and adhered it directly the card and added more dashed lines.  I love how adorably it turned out. I hope you like it and thank you for visiting my blog today!

Birthdays Are Like Zombies

I can't believe it's been two weeks since I posted a card here on my blog. I was training for a 5K with a friend and have been hitting the gym in the evenings to work on speed work on the treadmill. It worked...I shaved a whole minute off of my per mile time and came in first in my age group! I did it in 25.21 minutes.
Anyway, all of that speed training left me lacking in the creative mojo department. I don't have another race for a month so am hoping to get a few cards created before then.

Today's card was created for the latest Just Us Girls challenge. I started with a plain white card base and layered some funky geometric patterned paper from the Little Yellow Bicycle Fern & Forest 6x6 patterned paper pad on top. I then stamped the sentiment and zombie image from the Sugar Pea Undying Love stamp set onto some white Copic-friendly paper. I then die cut the image out using a Gina Marie stitched rectangle die. I mounted it onto some coordinating patterned paper from the same paper pad and then colored the image in using my alcohol markers. I popped the focal panel up off of the card using some 3M foam tape and angled it for some added interest. I hope you like this fun little card and thank you for taking the time to visit my blog!

Hello Love-Coffee And Cards With Celeste And Deb

Hello and welcome to the February installment of the coffee and cards collaboration with my crafty friend Debra Davison. We have another guest designer with us this month, my dear friend Rebecca Ledbetter. Becky has been more than just a crafty friend, she's someone who has been here for me through a tough year of life changes and I am so very blessed to call her friend!

For our collaboration this month we decided to do a Valentine themed coffee card. It's no secret that I love my Unity Stamp Company Angie Girl stamps and have several that are coffee themed and that's what I reached for when creating this card. I started a white card base and layered some pretty love-themed pink and grey patterned paper from Echo Park. I then stamped Angie girl and sentiment from Unity Stamp Company's Hello Love stamp set onto some Copic-friendly cardstock. I colored the image in using coordinating colors to match the patterned paper and then die cut the panel out using a stitched edge Gina Marie Designs rectangle die. I popped the panel up off of the card using 3M foam tape for added dimension. To finish my card I added some light pink sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and some pink Stickles to the gloves, sentiment, and scarf for some additional shimmer and shine.
As for my coffee, I opted for a nice big cup of Seattle's Best French roast with some Starbucks caramel creamer in a pretty new ceramic travel mug that I got for Christmas. Enjoy your coffee this morning and be sure to pop over to Deb and Becky's blogs and leave them some blog love in the way of a comment! Thank you for visiting my blog!

Merry Christmas

Today's card was created for the latest Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge. I started with a kraft card base and layered a panel of plain white cardstock onto top cut slightly smaller than my card. I added 1/2" strips of patterned paper from the My Mind's Eye Holly Jolly 6x6 paper pad in a tapering line to mimic a Christmas Tree. I topped it with a punched star from the same paper collection and a strip of brown cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from Amy R Stamps Big Christmas Wishes stamp set using chocolate chip ink from Stampin' UP. To finish my card I added a small clear rhinestone from Recollections to the star and some brown dashed lines around the outer edge of the focal panel. I hope you like this quick and easy card and thank you for visiting my blog!
