Wishing You

I got home from work yesterday evening and found some happy mail waiting for me from Blitsy. It was the awesome Harvest Mouse stamp and die set from MFT. While I was trolling through the awesome cards on the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop I recalled a video I had recently seen where Jennifer Maguire had altered this very stamp set so that the mice were carrying things other than pumpkins and apples. I was inspired to alter one of the mice to make it look like he was carrying some coffee on a brisk autumn day. It was tough to do with the dies because I had to do some selective die cutting and some cutting and piecing in with my cutting blade but I managed it. I started by die cutting all of my shapes and stamping the mice, leaves, and pumpkin out some Memento rich cocoa ink. I Copic colored my images and added some clear Wink of Stella glitter brush to the sweaters, leaves, and pumpkins. I then stamped the mug from the Technique Tuesday Eat Chocolate stamp set and Copic colored the chevron stripes to match my mice. I put down a strip of patterned paper from the American Crafts Autumn Crisp 6x6 patterned paper and added a piece of white cardstock above it that I had blended some Hero Arts soft pool shadow ink using a Stampin' UP sponge to give it a mottled look with some variation that you would see in the sky. I mounted my images straight onto the card using snail adhesive and sprinkled a few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh around. I then stamped the sentiment from the same MFT stamp set using some Gina K charcoal brown ink for a nice crisp look. I hope you like it!
